Pevely, MO (September 11, 2004) A full field of cars in every division provided some exciting action for all the fans in attendance. It was the final points event at I-55 Raceway and two division titles were decided during tonight's action.

With the track surface being very smooth and very fast, the U.M.P. (United Midwestern Promoters) Late Model division took to the track for their main event first. Billy Faust took the early lead from the pole position and led the first three laps before Ed Dixon moved past him for the lead. Faust and Dixon would battle for the lead for several laps, with Kevin Gundaker joining the duo up front and making it a three way battle early on. Brian Shirley was on the move as well and he soon disposed of Gundaker and took the third spot. Just a few laps later, Shirley moved past Faust and took the second position with Gundaker following him into the third spot. Dixon and Shirley battled for the final eight laps when Shirley finally made the pass on Dixon on lap twenty-two. Once Shirley took the lead, he pulled away and took the win. Dixon held off Gundaker for the second position, Faust followed Gundaker across the line and finished fourth. Clay Baumann rounded out the top five. Dixon won the season championship in the U.M.P. Late Model division.

Steve Shive claimed the Missouri/Illinois Dodge Dealers Hard Charger Award. Shive earned the $200 bonus for improving his finishing position the most spots from his starting position.

Scott Weber rebounded from an incident last week and took the U.M.P. Modified feature event. Weber dominated the event and led all twenty laps. Eric Mabery and Bobby Bittle battled relentlessly for the second position for most of the twenty laps with Mabery taking second at the line. Tom Ratajczyk took fourth and Doug Wood fifth. Bittle took the season championship in the U.M.P. Modified division.

Weber also claimed the G&M Steel Dash for Cash to earn a $100 bonus. Weber also won his heat to make it a perfect sweep on the night's events.

Ricky Horton won the A.A.R.A. Sportsman feature and won the season championship by doing so. Paul Belken, who was in a tight race for the championship with Horton, battled with Horton for the first twelve laps for the lead. Paul Bauman would get past Belken with just three laps remaining and would finish second in the main event. Belken came home third, Scott Stuppy was fourth and Ed Lowry completed the top five. Jerry Fleming and Troy Naeger were involved in a frightening crash as Fleming spun in turn four and Naeger hit him head on at full speed. The two hit nose to nose and the front of Fleming's car went straight up in the air eight to ten feet before falling back down on the front of Naeger's car. Both drivers were uninjured in the incident.

Pat Brewer also won the A.A.R.A. Pro 4 Stock feature and the season championship. Brewer and Conrad Miner swapped the lead several times in the main event, but it was Brewer taking the checkered flag first. Miner was second, Don Hoffman third, Homer Mooney fourth and Scott Geary fifth.
