Pevely, MO (July 23, 2005) I-55 Raceway along with the great sponsors Shop N' Save, WIL 92.3 FM, Prairie Farms, Nabisco, Midwest Diary Association, Arm & Hammer and Freschetta Pizza put on a great event to help raise money for Special Olympics.

A $5,000 payday was on the line for the winner of the UMP Late Model event. Terry English of Benton, KY took home the big payday as he held off Tim Ratajczyk early and then fought off the challenges of Kevin Weaver late in the event. As the leaders battled through lapped traffic, Weaver, who started on the outside of the third row, was able to pull even with English on several occassions, but each time English was able to power back into the lead. Ratajczyk, who started fifth and battled with English and Weaver throughout the event settled for the third position. Bryan Collins made an impressive run through the field to claim the fourth position with Randy Korte rounding out the top five.

Tom Ratajczyk of Columbia, IL claimed the UMP Modified victory and $1,200. Ratajczyk and Rusty Griffaw battled the entire twenty laps with Ratajczyk on the low side and Griffaw around the top. Matt Mevert joined the battle around the half way point as he drove right through the center of the racetrack. Griffaw claimed the second position at the stripe behind Ratajczyk and Mevert took the third spot. The UMP Modified point leader at I-55 Raceway, Brian Wolfmeier, claimed the fourth spot with Tommie Seets, Jr., rounding out the top five.

A great battle in the AARA Sportsman division as five, six and even seven cars battled at the front for the top position. Paul Bauman took the win and led most of the event while the battle for second was three and four cars wide at several times during the event. Scott Stuppy took the second spot by half car length over Kent Nations who was third and had just a bumper ahead of fourth place finishing Paul Belken. Chuck Adams took the fifth spot less than a car length behind Belken. Jason Keller claimed the Missouri/Illinois Dodge Dealers Hard Charger Award as he improved his finishing position the most spots from where he started the race.

Dustin Korte led wire-to-wire in the AARA Pro 4 Stock division. Scott Geary made a charge through the field after starting eleventh to claim the second position. Jason Crump, Chris Fisher and Mike McMullen completed the top five.
