Pevely, MO (April 11, 2009) Randy Korte of Highland, Illinois had a night to remember at I-55 Raceway. Not only did Korte win the UMP Super Late Model main event, he followed it up with a victory in the UMP Modified main event.
In the UMP Super Late Model main event, Korte took the lead at the drop of the green flag from his front row pole starting spot and then held off a valiant effort from Billy Faust to earn the victory. Faust challenged Korte lap after lap for the lead as he used the high side through turns one and two to get a great run on Korte, but Korte was able to just move in front of Faust each lap as they exited turn two and headed down the back stretch. Craig Smith also battled with Korte and Faust for the lead in the first half of the feature event, but a broken left rear wheel would end his night. Korte was able to hold off Faust the entire twenty-five laps and earned the victory. Faust would finish a close second. Brent Kreke had a spectacular run as he finished third. Tim Manville backed up his feature win from last week with a fourth place finish while Jeff Johns rounded out the top five.

Korte then came back in the UMP Modified main event and took another hard fought victory. This time, he had to hold off the challenges of Ray Walsh, Rusty Griffaw and Gary Cook, Jr. Walsh got the lead at the drop of the green flag and would lead the first couple of laps before Korte found his way around Walsh. Walsh then stayed glued to Korte's rear bumper as the two raced around the very top of the track, occassionally sending sparks flying as they scraped the outside wall. Meanwhile, Griffaw moved in on the leaders early as he used the very bottom of the track. Those three put on a great battle for the lead in the first half of the main event. It didn't take long for Gary Cook, Jr. to move in on the leaders as he also used the high side. In the end, Korte was just too tough as he held off all challenges and took the win. Walsh would finish a close second with Cook taking third. Tim Hancock moved into the battle in the closing laps and finish fourth just ahead of Griffaw who completed the top five.

In appeared the 2008 I-55 Raceway UMP/AARA Sportsman Champion, Jeff Herzog, was on his way to victory in the main event. Herzog led the first eleven laps of the fifteen lap main event as he protected the low side which appeared to be the fastest way around in the main event. But Brad Paquet took a chance and moved up to the middle of the track and drove around Herzog and took the victory. Herzog would cross the line in second with Jeff LeBaube finishing third. Troy Naeger stormed through the field and moved up to finish fourth after starting back in the eleventh spot. Jason Keller completed the top five.

Mark Todd won his first ever UMP/AARA Pro 4 Stock main event. Todd pulled out to a convincing lead as all the leaders worked heavy lapped traffic in the closing laps. However, a caution would regroup the field with just two laps remaining and Todd had to hold off the challenges of Justin McCallister, Chris Fisher and Philip Stuart. Todd held on to win, but a McCallister, Fisher and Stuart all crossed the line together with McCallister sideways and headon into the wall at the flagstand as he and Fisher made contact as they came to the line. McCallister would get the second spot with Fisher finishing third and Stuart fourth. Jason Crump completed the top five.
