(02/28/11) — The man, the myth, the legend: RONNIE JOHNSON of Chattanooga, Tennessee took a $10,000 payday back home winning is first BAMA BASH Sunday evening. The Southern Power RANKINGS extended his 5-PTS lead, to a hearty 50-PTS (and 2-race) advantage over Mississippi’s BUB McCOOL, whom mustered his 3rd Top-5 appearance at ArkLatex Speedway down in Cajun Country. Two-time BAMA BASH winner RAY COOK, drops from 2nd to 5th in the Top-5 standings after being tangled up in an early crash Sunday, during the 75 lapper. CHRIS WALL earned NATIONAL POWER RANKINGS points with his runner-up finish to RJ, which places the GATOR BAITOR currently 15th in the nations standings. RAY MOORE of Haughton, LA took home a $10,000 payday beating McCool Saturday night and is now tied with last weeks Winchester (TN) Speedway winner TIM BUSHA for 3rd in the Southern Power RANKINGS. LAMAR SCOGGINS inactive for the weekend drops from the Top-5 standings and is just behind 5-PTS behind the TARHEEL TIGER. For the next two-weeks the SOUTH RISES AGAIN with a plethora of events scattered about the region. RJ will likely be idle this weekend, but could turn-up in Clarksville, TN for a pair of weekend MARS series events. Modoc and Gaffney stage events also this weekend, which could see some COASTAL CLASHERS get on the Top-5 boards. Alabama’s STACY HOLMES debuts along with a few others in the Southern Power RANKINGS with his 5th place run this weekend.
