COMP Cams SMP Tour to Not Allow CT525 Engine

Comp Cams SMP TourSparta, Tennessee (03/08/11) – With both speedweeks for the 2011 COMP Cams SMP Series Presented By Racing Head Service continuing to draw near, the tour has announced that it will not be allowing the use of the CT525 engine in any of the events.  Series director, Michael Luna, comments, “Due to the technical knowledge and tools required to monitor the accuracy of these motors, we have decided to not allow the CT525 in any of the COMP Cams SMP sanctioned events.  We apologize for any inconveniences that this ruling may cause, and we look forward to seeing all competitors in action during the upcoming speedweeks.”

After an incredibly successful speedweek in 2011, which saw five different winners in five events as Allen Chickering claimed the title, the 2011 edition of the COMP Cams SMP Series has grown to include 16 events at 15 different tracks and two separate speedweeks.  A Longhorn Speedweek will be held in June and a Sooner Speedweek will be held in July this season.

The 1st Annual COMP Cams SMP Longhorn Speedweek opens on Sunday, June 5th at Paris Raceway Park (Paris, Texas).  Seven races later it will conclude at Cowtown Speedway (Fort Worth, Texas) on Saturday, June 11th.  The 1st Annual COMP Cams SMP Longhorn Speedweek includes the following dates:

June 8th: Lake Country Speedway (Ardmore, Oklahoma) – $1,500 To win/$125 To Start
June 9th: 85 Speedway (Ennis, Texas) – $1,500 To Win/$125 To Start
June 10th: RPM Speedway (Crandall, Texas) – $1,500 To Win/$125 To Start
June 11th: Cowtown Speedway (Fort Worth, Texas) – $1,500 To Win/$125 To Start

The 2nd Annual COMP Cams SMP Sooner Speedweek will be held Friday, July 15th – Saturday, July 23rd and features nine races in nine days.  All of the tracks from 2010 are back on the schedule plus the additions of Humboldt Speedway (Humboldt, Kansas), Crawford County Speedway (Van Buren, Arkansas), and West Siloam Speedway (Colocord, Oklahoma).

July 19th: Crawford County Speedway (Van Buren, Arkansas) – $1,500 To Win/$125 To Start
July 20th: West Siloam Speedway (Colocord, Oklahoma) – $1,500 To Win/$125 To Start
July 21st: Caney Valley Speedway (Caney, Kansas) – $1,500 To Win/$125 To Start
July 22nd: Caney Valley Speedway (Caney, Kansas) – $1,500 To Win/$125 To Start
July 23rd: Mid America Speedway (South Coffeyville, Kansas) – $2,000 To Win/$200 To Start
