I-55 Raceway(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS)  The Dennis Erb Racing team salvaged a long, rainy weekend by picking up their second checkered flag of the 2011 racing season on Saturday night, May 21 at the I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Missouri!  After the inaugural running of the ‘Bad Boy 98’ was cancelled at the Batesville (AR) Motor Speedway due to several inches of rain, Dennis Erb, Jr. decided to stop off at Pevely on his way back to his Carpentersville, Illinois shop.

He won his heat race in preliminary action and later started the weekly UMP DIRTcar Series A-Main from the outside of the front row.  Dennis led the majority of the main event, including the most important final lap, to record the $1,200 winner’s share over Mark Voigt, Tyler Reddick, Tim Manville, and Randy Korte.  Full results from the St. Louis area venue can be accessed online at www.i55raceway.com.

“It was good to at least salvage the weekend with a victory after getting rained-out at Batesville,” commented Erb this week following the Pevely win.  “It helped out with some fuel money, but we also got to log some valuable laps with this Bloomquist race car.  Each time we race, we learn a thing or two, so hopefully we can put some of that knowledge into making the car go fast this weekend at Wheatland and Granite City!”

The #28 team will look for more success this upcoming weekend in a pair of high-profile events in the states of Missouri and Illinois.  On Friday and Saturday, May 27-28, the pristine Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri will play host to the 19th Annual ‘Show-Me 100.’  The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will once again sanction the 100-lapper, which boasts a hefty $30,000 top prize.  For the first time ever, the CBS cameras will tape all of the action for broadcast on CBS Sports Spectacular on June 19 at 5:00 p.m. EST.

Following the ‘Show-Me 100,’ Dennis will invade the Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois on Sunday, May 29 for the ‘Budweiser 50.’  The one-day, UMP DIRTcar Series show will pay $10,000 to the winner.  Additional information on both weekend races can be viewed online at www.lucasdirt.com and www.tricityspeedway.net.
