Monett, MO (May 29, 2011) – Brad Looney of Republic, MO picked up his first victory of the year with the MARS DIRTcar Series at Monett Speedway’s 11th annual Tony Roper Memorial and withstood challenges from 2010 Monett Speedway Track Champion Justin Wells of Aurora, MO and 6-time and defending MARS champion Terry Phillips of Springfield, MO enroute to the $3,000 payday.

Looney, a former Monett Speedway track champion himself, stated, “We have been close several times at Monett with the MARS series and it feels good to get the win”. In addition to leading all 35 laps of the feature, Looney also took control of the points, with a slim 4 point margin over Phillips.

Wells finished second with RC Whitwell of Tucson, AZ finishing third. Phillips wound up fourth and Wendell Wallace of Batesville, AR rounded out the top five.

Next up for the martians will be this Friday June 3rd at Brill’s Motor Speedway in Meeker, OK and Saturday June 4th at the Salina Highbanks in Salina, OK.
