Lebanon-I-44-Speedway(LEBANON, Missouri)  NASCAR star Mike Wallace will be making a special appearance at Lebanon I-44 Speedway on Saturday night, June 11, as Monster Energy presents ‘Wallace Family Night at the Races’.  Spectator gates will open at 5:00 pm, with the five-division ASA stock car racing program scheduled to start at 7:30 on the track’s 3/8-mile high banked asphalt oval.

Wallace, taking advantage of a rare weekend off in the NASCAR Nationwide Series where he competes full time, scheduled a stop at I-44 Speedway primarily to watch his 23-year old daughter Chrissy and 15-year old son Matt race in separate events, but will take time to meet the fans and sign autographs during the evening’s activities.  Chrissy Wallace, one of the front-runners in the track’s popular Late Model stock car class, will also join her father and younger brother, competing in his inaugural Modified feature race, in a special Wallace Family ‘Road Warrior’ race.  It’s a homecoming of sorts for the middle brother of the famous Wallace racing family, as Mike Wallace won the Late Model championship – and a NASCAR Winston Racing Series regional title – at I-44 Speedway in 1990.

“Mike Wallace is arguably one of the most talented drivers in NASCAR racing today, and is also one of the sport’s best ambassadors,” said Craig Armstrong, I-44 Speedway promoter.  “I think Mike’s strongest suit may be his accessibility to the public.  He’s always willing to talk to race fans, sign autographs, and participate in fun and entertaining promotions that enhance the quality of the show.  We are very grateful to Mike for taking time out of his incredibly busy schedule to spend a Saturday evening with us at Lebanon I-44 Speedway.

Headlined by the fast and powerful ASA Late Model stock cars, Saturday’s show at the only paved oval track in southern Missouri will also spotlight the Modifieds, which are stock appearing racecars with open wheel front ends, the Sportsman class stock cars, Road Warriors – big, steel bodied pure stocks – and the four-cylinder ‘tuner-type’ class of cars called Chargers.  In addition to the I-44 Speedway classes, the travelling Outlaw Mini Stocks will make their third 2011 appearance at the Laclede County oval.

Lebanon I-44 Speedway features an alcohol-free, ‘family friendly’ grandstand, along with tier parking for cars, pickup trucks and RV’s where patrons may park, tailgate and view the races.  Known as the ‘Budweiser Wild Side’, beer may be brought in by fans in the tier parking areas, while full food and non-alcoholic beverage concessions are available in both the grandstands and tier parking, along with a Souvenir and track apparel booth.

Grandstand admission is $10 for Adults, ages 16 and older, while Adult admission in tier parking is $12.  Discounted admission for Seniors (ages 65 and older), Military personnel, and Juniors (ages 11-15) is offered in both locations.  A grandstand Family Pass for 2 Adults and 2 Juniors plus any number of Kids 10 and younger is available for $25, while six Adults entering in the same vehicle on tier parking will be admitted to the ‘Budweiser Wild Side’ for $60.

Located just four miles east of the Lebanon city limit on Historic Route 66, Lebanon I-44 Speedway is very accessible from anywhere in southern Missouri.  The simplest route is driving on Interstate 44 to Exit 135, and then one mile east on Route 66 to the track’s main entrance.  Additional information about the track’s 2011 ‘Kickin’ Asphalt’ racing schedule may be found of the facility’s official website, www.i44speedway.net.
