I-55 RacewayPevely, MO (June 11th, 2011) Tim Manville left I-55 Raceway highly disappointed after basically giving away a victory in the UMP DIRTcar Late Model feature event. Manville would battle lap after lap with Rickey Frankel for the first sixteen laps of the feature, the two swapping the lead back and fourth the entire time. Then Manville took control and pulled away to a comfortable lead and appeared to be on his way to relatively easy victory. Then disaster struck. As Manville raced through turn four coming for the white flag, he would spin all on his own. Manville would have to go to the tail of the field on the restart. That would give Rickey Frankel the lead on the restart, with Mark Voigt restarting in the second spot. Voigt, who had struggled early on in the feature, slipping back as far as fourth after starting on the outside of the front row, knew his tires and setup were perfect for the two lap shootout to the finish. On the restart, Voigt wasted little time as he shot past Frankel for the lead through turns one and two and proceeded to pull away and take a easy win. Frankel would get the second spot. Tim Ratajczyk had a great run as well and finished in the third position. Jeff Johns would claim fourth with Dewayne Kiefer coming home fifth.

The UMP Modified feature had some crazy turn of events and saw Tim Hancock get his second win of 2011 at I-55 Raceway. Doug Wood took the early lead and paced the field for the first five laps before Hancock took over the top spot. Hancock would pace the field as Wood, Josh Russell, Steve Maisel, Rick Conoyer & Paul Bauman had a heck of a race for second. Meanwhile, Ray Walsh & Scott Weber, who both had to start near the tail of the field after trouble in their heat races, were busy storming toward the front. A late caution would fly with just two laps remaining resetting the field with Hancock still leading, Russell running second, Wood third, Walsh fourth and Weber fifth. On the restart, Wood would get into the back of Russell as they enter turn one, sending Russell spinning. A flat left rear tire would end Russell’s night and Wood would have to restart on the rear, moving Walsh and Weber up to second and third place for the restart. Hancock would play a little cat and mouse on the restart, as he got on the gas and then off causing Walsh to run over his left rear tire as they exited turn four. Hancock would then pull away and go on to victory. Walsh would recover and hold on to a second place finish with Weber taking third. Rick Conoyer had a great run to finish in the fourth spot with Paul Bauman rounding out the top five.

Jeff Herzog claimed his third straight and fourth overall win of 2011 in the UMP DIRTcar/AARA Sportsman main event. Herzog started on the front row pole and proceeded to lead all fifteen laps in a dominating performance. Troy Naeger made a late race charge to go from fourth to second in the closing laps to claim the runner up spot. Jason Keller would take the third spot with Robbie Eilers finishing fourth. Trey Harris would round out the top five.

Dayton Racer claimed his second consecutive UMP DIRTcar/AARA Pro 4 Stock feature win. Racer moved past early leader Andrew Wibbenmeyer and went on to take the win. Aron Faulkner would get the second spot with Wibbenmeyer claiming third. Joe Merritt would take fourth and Mark Crady rounded out the top five.
