Springfield,Mo.-After a very successful racing program last Sat NightPresented By GreenLawn Funeral Homes,the action of the Quick-Quarter of the SpringfieldRaceway will gear up again with the Transport Graphics Chase for the Championship with 6 classes in action this week including Kids Bike Races at intermission.
The High Horse Power of the Budweiser RHS USRA Modifieds will be back in action this week along with the outstanding action in the Reliable Chevrolet SportMods,Missouri Legends,Casey’s General stores Midwest Modz,Wheeler Metals PureStocks and Pepsi StreetStocks as they tackle the high-banked Quarter mile dirt oval.
Going into this weekends events,4 time track champion Jackie Dalton of Carthage leads Webb City’s “Mr Excitement” Terry Beckham II in the point standings with defending champion Mitch Keeter,Branson Hot Shoe Jody Tillman and Springfield’s Hard Charger Erik Maggard following.This is the 5th point show for the USRA Modifieds as Dalton has 3 wins(last lap passes),while USMTS Traveler Johnny Scott and Oronogo’s bobby Pearish have also recorded wins while several good runs have been turned in by Keeter,Brian Green,Jerry Lankton,Robbie Bryant among others.
The Reliable Chevrolet SportMods finds Bobby Maggard Jr leading the standings by only 6 points over Springfield’s JC Morton with ReedSprings driver Mike Hailman taking advantage of a good run last week and only 10 points out of the top spot.Gary Rodocker of Willard has snuck up to 4th while defending champion Wayne Graybeal completes the top 5 in this wide open class of front runners.
The Legends has a great point battle as Joplin’s Park Jones hangs on to a 4 point lead over Dave Comer while defending champion Justin Comer sets a solid third only 7 points out of the top spot.Last weeks winner Wayne Johnston of Rolla and Jay Reynolds complete the top 5.
Casey’s General Stores Midwest Modz has trevor Drake holding the top spot but a real dog-fight for second place including Rusty Forrest and Sam Petty with only 1 marker separating those 2 drivers while Veteran Randy Belk and Gary Krebs are tied for 4th place in this growing class which has seen the car count go from 9 last season on the average to 18 this year already with over 30 drivers that have competed.
Bryan Tillman heads up the StreetStock point standing and is still undefeated in feature events as Tim Petty and Dan Wood are locked solid in the position for runner-up.
Ava’s Jack Hamer still maintains the Wheeler Metals PureStocks leaving a great battle for second place between 7 different drivers.
Kids will get to compete in bike races at intermission and experience their chance on the 1/4 mile clay oval.
Grandstand Gates open at 5 with the pitgates opening at 4PM.Hotlaps will start at 6:15 and Racing action at 7PM.
Grandstand General Admission is only $10 for Adults while kids 6-12 are $5 and under 6 Free.
