Kris Jackson Tops Midway Modified Main After 3 Wide Battle As Jones Grabs Legends Return

Lebanon MidwayLebanon,Mo.-Lebanon’s Kris Jackson took command at the halfway mark after a 3 wide battle for the lead and held on to grab his second feature win of the season Friday Night at the LebanonMidwaySpeedway as Energy Company and Energy Oils presented an outstanding fireowrks show for the large crowd.

The Aaron’s Modifieds took the green with Lebanon’s Lonnie Henderson grabbing the opening lead with Tyler Brown following. 2-3 wide action was the call all evening long as Henderson found the top groove to his liking as Brown was searching in the middle.On lap 3,Brown took over the lead as Henderson grabbed the top spot back the following lap.Jackson who started in row 3 joined the battle up front as point leader Michael Stake and last weeks winner Shawn Strong made it a 5 car race.With Brown setting a quick pace, Jackson powered into the second place spot around Henderson and began his march to the lead.After an outstanding 3 wide battle,Jackson took the lead on lap 8 as Brown stayed close behind while Henderson,Stake and Strong were swapping spots.As Jackson began to pull away, Strong was making it known the despite starting back in row 5 tonight we wasn’t going to let it be easy for Jackson.The only caution waved on lap 11 as Greg Strong made contact with the turn 1 wall with very little damage.Jackson brought the field to the restart as Strong made interesting by getting around Tyler Brown’s machine and began his move to the front running Jackson.

Strong got to within 2 car lengths before Jackson starting to edge away capturing his second victory of the season with Strong,Brown,point leader Stake and early leader Henderson following.

The Legend Cars return to the Midway for the first time in over 3 season and provided 3 wide racing al over the track.Veteran Dave Comer took the opening lead from his front row spot with Tyler Horton,James McDugle,Park Jones and Jay Reynolds setting the trend for the feature with 3 wide action.Caution waved on lap 2 as Rick Nichols and Colt Pruente got together in turn 1 ending both their nights.Comer would hold to the lead on the restart as Park Jones closed-in on the lead.After a spirited battle,Jones took the lead from Comer on lap 6 as the rest of the field began to close on the front runners.Jones opened up a 5 car length lead but by lap 9,Comer had closed up the gap while battling Tyler Horton and Jay Reynolds for the lead.On lap 12, comer was on jones right rear panel as Reynolds,Tyler Horton and a fast moving Wayne Johnston.With Comer setting up for a pass for the lead,caution waved on lap 13.Jones was able to take advantage of the double-file restart and captured the feature with Wayne Johnston made a last lap pass to grab the runner-up spot,Comer,Reynolds and T Horton in the top 5.

A Wild Energy Company PureStock feature saw Matt Young grab the opening lead with point leader Monk Barker,Shorty Doublin and Kolt Barker close behind.Young was setting a fast pace while looking for his first win of the season as 2 wide battles for second place between M Barker,Kolt Barker,S Doublin.Following a lap 3 caution, a fast pace by Young soon found Kolt Barker and Robert Doublin,Kory Barker and Monk Barker.During the green run,Kolt Barker overtook Young on lap 8 and pulled away for his second feature win of the season despite a late caution for contact between Young and Kory Barker as both drivers restarted at the rear.Following Kolt Barker to the stripe were Monk Barker,Young,Shorty Doublin and Jason Brumley in the top 5.

The Transport Graphics StreetStocks was an interesting feature with many different leaders as Rodney Yost grabbed the opening lead with Keith Cheever,Brandon Waters and point leader Joe Francis close behind.With yost setting a fast pace, it was 3 wide action.Caution waved on lap 4 as Billy Waters slowed on the backstretch.On the following lap, Josh Lewis blew his motor leaving oil and water on the track.On the restart,Keith Cheever grabbed the lead and was looking to pull away when something broke in the rear of the car ending his chance for the win. Rodney Yosy then took the lead back with Francis,Brandon Waters and Trevor Ellingson following.On lap 7,Brandon had worked his way back to the front after recovering from a lap 5 spin.Francis took the lead back on lap 8 as Waters back in front the following lap with Yost in the shawdows. Heading into lap 13,Waters found Francis beside him and used lapped traffic to grab his second win of the season with Francis,Yost,Ellingson and Ricky Brashears following.

THe Rocky Ridge Construction Midwest Modz class provided outstanding racing with Bobby Gough grabbing the opening lead with Earl Muilenburg,Sam Petty,point leader JC Newell close together.Rookie Ryan Hendrix brought out the caution on lap 2 bunching the field up.Gough was setting a fast pace on the top groove with 3 wide racing for second place.On lap 6,Newell used the middle groove to work around Gough and puuled away late to grab the victory with the ageless wonder Earl Muilenburg,a fast moving Sam Petty,Gough and Hendrix following.Point contender Rich Reynolds was involved in an incident in the pack back on lap 5 and sent him out early.

Action continues next Friday night with the Central Bank Racing Series with racing at 8PM featuring FactoryStocks,Modifieds,Midwest Modz,PureStocks and StreetStocks.
