Championship Chase Getting Interesting At Springfield Raceway

Springfield RacewaySpringfield,Mo.-The battle for the 2011 Transport Graphics Championship chase is really heating up following last weeks racing action in all 6 classes featuring the USRA Modifieds, Reliable Chevrolet B-Mods, Casey’s General stores Midwest Modz, Legends, Wheeler Metals PureStocks and Pepsi Street Stocks.

With the 2nd half of the season underway,drivers go back to their point average line-ups and things have really been shaken-up as everyone started from square one last Sat Night.

Carthage’s Jackie Dalton found his way back into the winners circle in the USRA Modifieds and still holds a 72 point lead over Branson’s Jody Tillman as Erik Maggard moved into the third place spot overall only 20 behind Tillman as defending champion Mitch Keeter fell to fourth after problems put him on the trailer early as Kyle Slagle has charged into fifth place.

Republic’s Bobby Maggard Jr. still maintains the top spot in the Reliable Chevrolet GM Performance B-Mods as Springfield’s JC Morton has moved into second place following Mike Hailman’s no apperance in his B-Mod.Morton is currently 11 points behind Maggard for the top spot while Mike Hailman,defending champion Wayne Graybeal and Gary Rodocker complete the top 5.

For 4th generation driver Trevor Drake of Webb City, 2011 has been a strong season in the Casey’s General stores Midwest Modz as he holds a 49 point advantage over Niangua’s Sam Petty.Petty has had solid runs at Springfield this season and finds himself only 12 points ahead of Ozark’s Rusty Forrest while Clever’s Gary Krebs and Joplin Veteran “Gentleman” Randy Belk completes a very tough top 5 as this 2nd season class is averaging close to 20 cars per night.

Dave Comer of Joplin has found strength in this middle stages of the season as the veteran driver has stretched his advantage over early season point leader Park Jones by 28 points.Jones  of Joplin is in a dog-fight as Wayne Johnston of Rolla is only 5 out of the runner-up spot with defending champion Justin Comer and young Tyler Horton completing the top 5 as Legends have been averaging close to 20 cars weekly also.

Ava’s Jack Hamer has showed consistant heat and feature finishes to stretch to a 39 point lead over Springfield’s James Redus.Redus has Miami,Okla driver Wayne Morris only 4 points out of the second place spot as rookie driver Philip Schloesser of Clever vaulting to 4th place with young Okla driver Jeremy Thulin in the top 5.

Branson’s Bryan Tillman go back into winning form last Sat night by capturing the StreetStock(FactoryStocks) feature and a 26 point margin over Niangua’s Tim Petty as this class is still providing close competition as new drivers are trying the Quick-Quarter weekly.

Grandstand Gates open at 5 with hotlaps starting at 6:30 and Racing at 7:15.General Admission is only $10 for Adults with kids 6-12 $5 and under 6 Free.
