Springfield RacewaySpringfield,Mo.-Cooler temps greeted the drivers and fans Sat night at the Springfield Raceway with outstanding racing action all evening long.

The Budweiser USRA RHS Modifieds kept the fans on the edge of their seats during the entire 20 lap feature as the race went caution free.Darrell Jackson took the opening lead with Billy Dalton to his outside.3 wide action was the cal all evening as Brian Green went looking for his second win of the season as took the lead followed by John Yeoman III,Jody Tillman,Erik Maggard and bobby Pearish. With the 3 wide action,Pearish found a spot on the top groove and started his charge to the front as Defending champion Mitch Keeter who started 13th tonight was working the bottom groove and coming. With Green and Yeoman battling,Erik Maggard was working the low groove as Pearish was motoring the top side.On lap 12,Pearish found his way to the lead and recorded his second victory of the season with Yeoman putting on a clssic drive on the bottom groove to take home runner-up honors.Maggard fought his way to third followed by early leader Green and Keeter.

Reliable Chevrolet B-Mod action was again an outstanding event.Gary Rodocker and JC Morton brought the field to the Green flag with Morton grabbing the lead followed by Veteran Scott Drake and Kaleb Copher, point leader Bobby Maggard Jr and others.Morton and Drake were stagging a great battle when the caution flew on lap 3 as Terry Beckham Sr pulled to the infield with problems and Mitch Keeter stalled on the backstretch.Morton would bring the field to the restart with Drake following closely. On lap 8,Drake made the top groove work as he took the lead with Morton following closely. While Drake and Morton pulled away, the battle for third was tight as Maggard Jr, Jon Yeoman Jr,Shawn Strong Rodocker and Don Luna all battled.A late caution for Jared Thulin set-up a last chance for Morton to overtake Drake both with 602 GM Performance Crate Motors, but Drake would get a great restart and pull away for the win.Morton would find Shawn Strong who started tonight in 12th place battle in the closing laps for the runner-up spot as Morton,Strong,Maggard Jr and Yeoman Jr completed the top 5.

The Missouri Legend Cars again provided outstanding 3 wide action as Rodney Baird took the opening lead with Paul Horton following along with Tyler Horton.Early season point leader Park jones started his march to the front along with point leader Dave Comer, but veteran Wayne Johnston was making the bottom groove work flawlessly.Up front,Johnston took the lead on lap 4 and the battle was on.With johnston setting a fast pace,Dave Comer,Jones,Justin Comer,Jay Reynolds and Tyler Horton were in a dogfight.Following a couple of restarts,Johnston looked to have things in hand, but Dave Comer and Park Jones went to the top groove to overtake the leader.Johnston’s bid for victory ended on lap 14 with problems and he retired.Dave Comer set the pace with Jones,J Comer,Tyler Horton and others battling.Dave comer would withstand several attempts from Jones and Justin comer to take the win as Jones, J Comer,T horton and a fast moving Jay Reynolds completed the top 5.

The Casey’s General Stores Midwest Modz saw a new face in the winners circle as points runner-up Sam Petty overtook leader Dakota Maggard on lap 7 to take his first ever Springfield feature win.The Action was tough in the early going as several cautions kept everyone bunched together.Maggard a rookie driver this season was looking for his first ever win,but found Petty to strong on the final restart.Petty who suffered a loose ignition wire on the original start was able to get the problem fixed and showed the fast way around.Following Petty and Maggard to the stripe were Todd McGregor,Gary Krebs and point leader Trevor Drake who recovered from an earlier spin to earn a top 5 spot.

Point leader Jack Hamer grabbed the lead from a hard charging Wayne Morris on lap 6 and never looked back in taking the PureStock feature win as James Redus gave a late race charge, but had nothing for the Ava driver.Morris who is getting stronger each week finished in third place followed by Jeremy Thulin and Lenny Bell.

Former Springfield regular Sundance Keepper made an apperance to the Speedway very popular as he took the lead on lap 5 from point leader Bryan Tillman and never looked back in the FactoryStock feature event.Tillman was able to hold on to the runner-up spot as Tim Petty,Mike Bitner and Darian Hendrix completed the top 5.
