Bluegrass SpeedwayBardstown, KY-August 6, 2011- The STARS Midwest Dirt Racing League would make its first ever visit to Bluegrass Speedway on Saturday evening for the 13th Annual Bluegrass 50 and Brad Neat of Dunnville, KY would claim his second win in this event.  Other feature event winners were Danny Blackwell of Taylorsville, KY in Clayton Homes of Stanford UMP Sportsman and Benji Lee of Loretto, KY in Country 100.9 MIKE FM UMP Modifieds.

Dustin Neat would take the lead at the start of the 13th Annual Bluegrass 50 and would lead until lap 13 when younger brother Brad Neat would take the lead.  Dustin Neat would drive back under 4th place starting Brad Neat on lap 14, only to have Brad Neat drive around Dustin Neat again exiting turn four on lap 15.  Neat would drive away to almost ¾ of a straightaway at times during the event and score the $5,000 victory aboard his Red Buck Cigars/Neat’s Service Center/Tarter Farm and Ranch sponsored #41 Longhorn Chassis, Cornett Race Engines powered machine.  Dustin Neat would take runner-up honors, with Jason Jameson taking a third place finish.  Terry English and Justin Rattliff would complete the top five.  The remainder of the top ten would be 12th place starting Tim Dohm, Victor Lee, 13th place starting Rohn Moon, Mike Jewell, after restarting at the tail of the field after a tangle with Eric Wells on a lap 19 restart, and Tanner English.  In preliminary action, Tim Tungate was the overall top qualifier at 15.369 seconds among 27 entries, while heat race victories fell to Tungate, Jameson, and Dustin Neat.  Greg Johnson would win the B-Main, while provisional starting spots went to Mick Sansom (series), Jason Smith (series), and Jason Hinkle (track).

The 15 lap Clayton Homes of Stanford UMP Sportsman feature event would see Robbie Settles take the race lead from Danny Blackwell on lap 3 only to lose it after doing a 360 degree spin in turn two on lap 11.  Blackwell would then hold off the hard charges of Avral Thompson over the final four laps of the event to take his first win of the 2011 season at Bluegrass Speedway behind the wheel of the Sherry Blackwell owned Noel Auto Sales/Kentucky Outdoors Magazine/Custom Fabrication and Machine Shop sponsored #B1 Chevy Monte Carlo mount.  Thompson would finish second, with Rob Jones, Derek Bottoms, and Mike Opall completing the top five.  In preliminary action, Settles would be the top qualifier among 10 entries at 18.761 seconds and would also win the heat.
