Springfield,Mo.-With only 4 points races in the Transport Graphics Championship Chase,action will again heat-up at the Quick Quarter of the Springfield Raceway Sat Night as Deer Creek Golf And Fitness joins in a special night at the races.
A special drawing will be held to see who ges the chance to compete to win $100 by trying your putting skills as the closest to the pin(or even a hole-in-one) will collect the prize money.
Action this week will feature the USRA Modifieds,Midwest Modz,Legends,PureStocks and Factorystocks as drivers try to position themselves in the stretch championship chase drive.
Currently 4 time USRA Modified Champion Jackie Dalton of Carthage holds the top spot but Brighton’s Erik Maggard is moving up quickly in the standings as a dog-fight is for the second place spot.Jody Tillman,defending champion Mitch Keeter and Brian Green are all nip and tuck.
The B-Mods have this Sat night off but an outstanding battle between Bobby Maggard Jr and JC morton sees only a 6 point difference between these drivers.Gary Rodocker,Mike Hailman and defending champion Wayne Graybeal complete the top 5 as Graybeal is in a battle to hold on.
4th Generation driver Trevor Drake holds the top spot in the Midwest Modz as Sam Petty is mounting a strong 2nd half drive in the overall standings.The tight battle for third has Gary Krebs,Rusty Forrest,Matthew Thulin and veteran Gentleman Randy Belk swapping spots as this second year class has grown leaps and bounds.
Veteran Dave Comer heads-up the popular LegendCars as defending champion Justin Comer has overtaken Park Jones for the runner-up spot.Rolla’s Wayne Johnston fell off the championship pace after losing a motor last week and young lion Tyler Horton is quietly charging forward with the veterans as average car count is 20 for the Legends this season.
Bryan Tillman has been the class of the field in the FactoryStock class this season as Tim Petty continues to apply pressure.Several new drivers have found Springfield to their liking as Dan Wood,Steve Morton and Brad Gideon complete the top 5.
Ava’s Jack Hamer still maintains the top spot in the PureStock division by consistantly being in the top 3 and doing well in heat races.Springfield’s James Redus has newcomer Wayne Morris glued to his bumper in the battle for second place while two young guns, Jeremy Thulin and Bret Testerman complete the top 5.
Grandstand Gates open at 5 while hotlaps start at 6:30 and Racing at 7:15.
