ULMA - United Late Model AssociationQuincy, Illinois (08/18/11) –12 year-old, Jake Griffin continued his banner year over the weekend by picking up the ULMA Late Model feature win at Scotland County Speedway (Memphis, Missouri) on Saturday night.

After seeing Friday night’s festivities washed away at Callaway Raceway (Fulton, Missouri) Jake and the team returned to action on Saturday night at Scotland County Speedway (Memphis, Missouri). Griffin once again was in action in both the ULMA Late Model Series division and the UMP Open Wheel Modified division, and it would prove to be another great night for the young driver.

In the ULMA Late Model division Griffin would race his way to the feature win, which was his fifth of the 2011 season! In addition he would record a strong third place finish in the UMP Open Wheel Modified feature. For full results please visit www.ScotlandCountySpeedway.com.

Jake made the short trip to Quincy Raceway (Quincy, Illinois) on Sunday night at Quincy Raceway (Quincy, Illinois) in the UMP Open Wheel Modified division. With 20 cars entered into the program, Griffin would start the night with a great third place run in heat race action to lock him into a starting spot near the front of the pack for the feature. Unfortunately in the main event mechanical issues would plague Jake early in the event resulting in a 17th place finish. Full results are available at www.QuincyRaceways.com.

As the year continues to wind down Jake remains at the top of the ULMA Late Model Series standings over Jason Bodenhammer, Steve Clancy, Tommy Cordray, and Brett Wood.  For full standings, please visit www.ULMARacing.com .

In addition, Griffin also continues to lead the ULMA standings at Callaway Raceway (Fulton, Missouri) and Scotland County Speedway (Memphis, Missouri) as well as the Rookie of the Year standings at each facility.

The upcoming weekend, August 18th-20th, will see the team return to Callaway Raceway on Friday night before traveling to Scotland County Speedway on Saturday night, and then closing out the weekend on Sunday night at Quincy Raceway.  For more information on the events, please visit www.CallawayRaceways.com, www.ScotlandCountySpeedway.com, and www.QuincyRaceways.com .
