Missouri State Fair speedwayLonnie Wheatley, SEDALIA, Mo. (August 21, 2011) – Brian Brown outdueled shop mate and uncle Danny Lasoski to win Sunday night’s 25-lap Speedway Motors ASCS Warrior main event atop the Historic Half-Mile at the Missouri State Fairgrounds.

After trading the lead several times along the way, Brown took command for keeps on the 24th circuit for his second ASCS Warrior win of the year and fifth overall ASCS Regional triumph of 2011 aboard the FVP No. 21 Maxim.

While Rusty Potter and Brad Loyet led the feature field to the green flag, Lasoski gunned into the lead on the opening lap from his fourth starting position and paced the initial 14 circuits before fifth-starter Brown took command.

Brown led just four circuits before Lasoski slid back into the top position on the 19th lap.  Brown battled back in front on the 24th lap and took the $2,000 triumph, denying Lasoski a sweep of the weekend ASCS Warrior double.

Lasoski settled for runner-up honors, with Randy Martin taking the show position.  Tony Bruce, Jr., edged current Warrior points leader Loyet for fourth, with Jonathan Cornell, Rusty Potter, Kyle Bellm, Jon Corbin and Jeff Osborn completing the top ten.

Cornell, Martin, Potter and Loyet topped heat race action for the 40-car field, with Lanny Carpenter and Kyle Carpenter winning the “B” Mains.
