2011 Rockstar Energy Drink Champions to be Crowned Saturday!

Lucas Oil SpeedwayWheatland, MO (August 30th, 2011) – The 2011 Rockstar Energy Drink Weekly Championship Series will wrap up this Saturday night, September 3rd at Lucas Oil Speedway. This season has provided exciting racing action and a close points battle in each class. Following the double points night last week, it all boils down to this one night. Rylan Long, Mickey Burrell and Sundance Keepper will be adamantly defending their current points position as they look to take home the title in each class. As an added bonus the Carson’s Corner Napa Factory Stocks will have a guaranteed first place payout of $400. The top ten spots will also have added bonus money. A special thanks to Elite Auto Repair in Warrensburg, MO for the support of the factory stock class.

Saturday night Lucas Oil Speedway is kicking off the school year with “Show Your Spirit” night. Any guest who wears a school spirit shirt will receive $2 off admission. Pack the grandstands with your school colors and spirit to cheer on the top drivers in the Rockstar Energy Drink Weekly Championship Series.

Rylan Long from Greenfield, MO is currently in the points lead for the TNT Quick Shop ULMA Late Models. Rylan’s lead has widened to 91 points over Tommy Cordray from Browning, MO. Long has been nearly impossible to catch this season, with 8 wins at the Diamond of Dirt Tracks. Cordray had a solid run last week and looks to be consistent to finish out the 2011 season. From Neosho, MO, Chris Hawkins is third in point standings. Hawkins continues to have top ten finishes and holds a comfortable lead over Larry Jones in fourth. Christopher Morelock from Springfield, MO has returned to fifth place and bumped Andy Kennedy from Wheatland, MO into sixth overall.

Mickey Burrell continues to lead the points championship in the Pitts Homes A Modifieds. The two drivers just behind Burrell, from Fair Grove, MO have flipped flopped. Lyle Dietrich is now in second position 46 points out of the lead. Dietrich from Urbana, MO finished 3rd last weekend and jumped over Chase Jones. Jones is now 12 points behind Dietrich and 58 points out of the lead. Saturday will put the top three drivers to the test as they gaze at the top spot in the Rockstar Energy Drink Weekly Championship Series. John Fellers from Flemmington, MO is in fourth place with Josh Woody in fifth.

Sundance Keepper from Everton, MO picked up just a few more points over second place contender James Flood in the Carson’s Corner Napa Factory Stock’s. Keepper gained another victory on Saturday night and is now 25 points ahead of Flood. Not only is the battle for top spot close, Chip Shaddox is only 60 points out of the lead in third place. Shaddox is a local Wheatland, MO driver and fan favorite in his #1 machine. Troy Reasoner Jr. from Urich, MO remains in fourth place with Mike Bitner from Frontenac, KS in fifth. Saturday night’s added purse money from Elite Auto Repair will add pressure to the drivers already on the chip looking to claim the points title.

The Lucas Oil Go Cart Slick Track is open and will be running Saturday night. Tickets are just $5 per ride!

Spectator Gates open at 5:00pm this Saturday with Hot Laps set to get under way at 7:00 and the first big race of the night at 7:30pm. Adult Admission at the gate is just $12 with Seniors and Active Military only $8. Juniors (6-15) are just $5 and Kids 5 and under are always FREE at Lucas Oil Speedway. Show Your AAA Membership Card at the gate and receive $3 off any Adult or Senior General Admission Ticket. Don’t forget, wear your school spirit t-shirt and receive $2 off admission!

Family Passes are priced at only $25 for this event which includes entry for two adults (age 16 and up) and up to three youth (ages 6-15), discounts on kids meals, gift shop merchandise, and funnel cakes.

A limited number of VIP Suites are also still available for Saturday night.
