Lebanon,Mo.-The popular Legend Cars have been added to the remaining 3 Friday Night events at the LebanonMidwaySpeedway starting this Friday Night Sept 23rd.
These exciting and ever-growing cars provide alot of excitement and drivers skills as they really provide outstanding racing action on the smaller tracks such as Midway and SpringfieldRaceway.
The Legends are spec type cars that resemble the old style coupes that help racing get its grass roots racing in the early years.They compete at the SpringfieldRaceway weekly and have averaged around 20 cars per event up there this season. A large majority of the drivers come from the Joplin area,but front running cars and drivers are also close by in the Springfield area and Rolla area.
The Legends have competed once this season at Midway with Joplin’s Park Jones grabbing the feature event. Jones has always ran strong at Midway but sold his car to lady driver Brandi Morrison of Bolivar while trying to get his new ride together.The Legends officials expect a car count around 14 or greater fro the 3 Midway events.
Heading a talented list of expected drivers include SpringfieldRaceway 2011 champion Dave Comer of Joplin,2010 Springfield champion Justin Comer,Springfield’s Jay Reynolds,Rolla’s Wayne Johnston(a former area Modified standout and Legend rookie),Aurora’s Colt Pruente,Oklahoma’s Father and son team of James and Caleb McDugle,Cassville’s Rick Nichols,Billings area top driver Rob Watson,lady driver and rookie Brandi Morrison,Tyler Horton,Springfield regular Brian Boucher and others.
Midway will be holding the season championships on Friday Night with action featuring the Modifieds,FactoryStocks,StreetStocks,PureStocks and Midwest Modz with Racing to start at 8PM.
 Midway will also be in action on Friday Sept 30th with an open show featuring Modifieds,FactoryStocks,Legends,StreetStocks,PureStocks and Midwest Modz and will then conclude the 2011 season with the 2 day Fall Brawl event on Friday and Sat October 7th and 8th.
The Friday night racing action will feature qualifying heats and pole dashes for the Modifieds,FactoryStocks,PureStocks,StreetStocks, and Midwest Modz while the Legends will run a complete show of heats and features.Sat October 8th will be the last chance races if needed and feature events plus the A-Mods will be ompeting on Sat night a full race show of time trials,qualifying heats and features.
