Farmington, MO (October 1) – On a very cool evening at St Francois County Raceway the action was very hot. Tim Montgomery, Fredericktown, MO, made it to the top of the charts in the 15th running of the Queens Roayle. Montgomery took off from his front row starting position and was being chased by 19 other competitors. A J Bruns, Lincoln, Il came out of the gates in the second position. These two were followed by Tommy Worley, Jr, Bismarck, MO, 20011 Track Champion Jimmy Hurley, Springfield, and Jerrod Hull of Sikeston, MO. The track had turned to a black slick condition. Lap 14 saw the first caution of the event as Kody Kinser, Bloomington, IN, spun his mount to a stop. Lap 21 found the caution again waving for the tangled mess of Joey Boyd, Farmington, MO, Jason Keith, Fredericktown, MO, Jimmy Bridgeman, Farmington, MO and John Epperson, Desloge, MO. Several other drivers very close to the accident, but all managed to survive and continue. The final restart found the leader, Momtgomery, and a lapped car in front of second place running Tommy Worley, Jr.. This is how they finished with Robbie Standridge, Springfield, IL in third. Standridge had to make his way through the B-Main to qualify for this event and started seventeenth. Outside front row starter A J Bruns brings his mount home in fourth. 2010 – 2011 Track Champion Jimmy Hurley, Springfield, IL completing the top five. The win for Montgomery was his third. His other wins were in 2002 and 2005. Heat Winners on this night included Jason Keith, Joey Montgomery, Mark Shirshekan and Jim Moughan. A J Bruns picks up dash honors and Robbie Standridge took the top slot in the B-Main.

The A-Modified Division closed out with the smallest margin of victory. Matt Eaton got another win, his first in the Queens. It was not an easy road for the win as he started inside of the second row behind a very fast Rusty Griffaw. Griffaw, Eaton and Billy Smith set the tone early in this event. The green came out and these three went at it. Bill Nickelson and Cody Conner tried to get up in the fun, but settled in the fourth and fifth spots repectively. Getting the momentum was the key in this event. Driver ran two laps before caution appeared for Conner. Same three at the front, however Kasey Nations and Brent Thompson joined the trip. Lap eleven saw spins by Billy Joe Beard and Bill LaRue. Four laps later another caution came out for Mark Hunter. Keeping the field bunched together. Laps were winding down and Smith was doing his best to get to the front. Griffaw took his car into three on the bottom. Smith was going for the gold, took the high side and found the wall. His car climbed the wall and rolled over. Smith did walk away under his own power, his night and season was over. This left Matt Eaton a chance to challenge for the win. Griffaw did what he needed to do by keeping his car up front. However, Griffaw was having trouble keeping his car on the bottom in Turn one. Eaton found his opening came alongside and took the spot. These last three laps had everyone on their feet. Eaton got the great run off turn four and claimed his jewel in the Queens crown. Griffaw settled for the runner up spot after leading most of the way. Brent Thompson, 2001 Champion in the division, kept his string alive as he finished third. Third was his lowest finish of the season. Kasey Nations hung on for the fourth position and Adam Parmeley raced his way from the back and into the top five. Heats were won by, Eaton and Smith. Griffaw took the dash.

Eddie Gross would start the B-Modified Division from the pole. Looking for his first win of 2001, he took control early over Michael Savage and Greg Swearingem. Cautions came out for Bobby Despain as he spun his car on Lap 2. Lap five saw Tim Nash doing the spin number. Another caution came out for John Hahler. Hahler had fuel leaking. Unable to determine where the crack was in the cell, Hahler left the track for safety reasons. Gross was still in control at this point. Swearingem now was in a position to take a shot for the win. By the time the final restart on Lap ten, Sewaringem hade made it to the front. Pulling away from the field and his third victory of the season. Gross again the bridesmaid in second, Kenny Harris with another finish in the top five, he was third. Jeff Frohwitter and C J Wright complete the top five. Gross, Swearingem, and Savage won their heats.

In a race that seemed to be more like and enduro run, Dusty Homan finished out the season in fine style. Collecting his fourth win. The caution filled event started with Eric Sarakas fuel cap had fallen off. The cap was replaced, he returned to the finish fourth. Yellows also came out on several restart attempts. Homan managed to keep his cool. He was chased to the finish by John Bohn, Robbie Williams, Sarakas, and Josh Skaggs. Homan and Charlie Savage won the heats.

The 2011 racing season has now come to an end. Some drivers have already started to prepare for the 2012 season. In December the track will hold it annual awards banquet at the Potosi Elks Club. The date for this event is December 17. We would like to tip the hat to all of the winners in 2011. Also a special thanks to the sponsors and fans for their support. Looking ahead to the 2012 season and more championships to be contested.
