MLRA(October 6, 2011) Topeka, KS – Billy Moyer Jr. led all 30 laps and held off a hard charging John Anderson late in the race to score his first ever Lucas Oil MLRA feature event win. “I was just trying to ride there until I saw a nose,” Moyer Jr. said of his pace late in the race. “Our car was just phenomenal. We’ve been running terrible here lately. It’s good to finally get a special event victory. I love to get another one here tomorrow.”

John Anderson was the evening’s runner up. “I was trying to put some pressure on him (Moyer Jr.), but he didn’t flinch,” said Anderson. “He did a great job. I did all I could do there the last five laps.” Anderson put 2 more points between himself and Al Purkey, and now has an 18 point advantage with just three races left in the 2011 season. Purkey finished 3rd.

Heat race wins went to Billy Moyer Jr., Jeremy Payne and Terry Phillips. Action will continue Friday evening with a $3,500 to win Lucas Oil MLRA race. The A Modifieds will compete for $1,000 to win.
