Turkey Classic at Springfield Raceway on November 26th

Springfield RacewaySpringfield,Mo.-SpringfieldRaceway owners Jerry Hoffman and Doug Bland have announced the payout and rules information for the upcoming 4th annual O’ReillyAutoParts Turkey Claasic presented by Bad Boy Mowers at the Quick-Quarter on Sat November 26th in Springfield,Mo.

This season the Turkey Classic will feature 4 classes of cars-LateModels,A-Mods,B-Mods and Legends with a payout that deems worthy of the Speedway’s final Race of the Big 4 Specials.

The Latemodel feature winner will pocket $2,000 to win while starting the A feature pays $300.LateModels will run under MARS/MLRA Type Rules with the tire rule being either the Hoosier WRD D55 or the Hoosier LM 40.Steel Block Motors weight rule will be 2200 Lbs while Alum blocks are 2300Lbs. with a 8 inch spoiler.This season the NE Smith Crate rules apply to the Crate LM Racers who want to compete with the only exception being that the rear tires must be either WRS D55’s or LM 40’s.Latemodel entry fee is $100 and drivers who start the B features but don’t transfer recieve $110.Justin Wells of Aurora won the Latemodel version last season in a near flawles performance after starting 6th.

The High-horsepower of the A-Mods will compete for $1200 to win and $400 to start the feature event.USRA weight rules apply along with the 8000 RPM chip rule.NO Spoilers this season on the A-mods and tires allowed are the American Racer KK704 G60 along with the Hoosier IMCA Stamped G60.A-Mod entry fee is $100 and drivers who start their B features but don’t transfer to the Feature event will recieve $110.Last season Jody Tillman of Branson grabbed the lead from Kyle covert and held off a fast moving Chad Lyle to clain the win last season as over 70 A-Mods competed in this 1 day event.

The ever growing and popular B-Mods will go to battle for a $750 payday to win and $110 to start the Main Event.SpringfieldRaceway Spec motor rules call for 7000 RPM chip while their weight is 2550LBS for those running a Bert-or-Brinn with 50LBS in front of Mid-plate.2525 with a powerglide and 2500 with a clutch.The Springfield Crate rules call for a 6200 Chip and weigh 2500 LBS with Bert or Brinn with 50 LBS in front of the Mid-plate,2475 with a powerglide and 2450 with a clutch.

The IMCA Northern and Southern SportMods will compete with their weight rules,but NO SPOILERS for any B-Mod or SportMods.Tires allowed are the American Racer KK704 G60 or the Hoosier IMCA Stamped G60.No Hoosier 500’s allowed.Entry fee for the B-Mods is $40

This season with the popular GM Performance 602 Crate Motor in this car,there will be extra bonus money in the A feature fro those competing with the GM Performance 602 Crate motor.The highest finishing Crate will recieve $100 while the second highest will take home an extra $75 and third highest $75.The 4th highest finishing Crate will gather an extra $50.If the driver purchased their GM 602 from Reliable Chevrolet in Springfield the top 2 will recieve an extra $50.Last season Jesse Sobbing of Glenwood,Iowa started the feature in the 10th starting spot and rim rode his IMCA Legal Northern SportMod to victory over Brian Bolin and  64 other entries in an action packed race.

INEX 600 Series Legends are also an important part of the Turkey Classic as perhaps week in and week out these spec cars display outstanding racing action.THe Legends will battle for $300 to win and 35 to start the feature event.Last season 2009 Champion Jason Rayle took advantage of Dave Bauer’s misfortune and held off a pack of 5 other drivers to take home the win.

Pitgates will open at 10:30 AM while hotlaps will begin at 1PM.Drivers meeting is slated for 2:15 PM while the draw cutoff is set for 2PM.Racing is to begin at 3PM with the first qualifying heat race.Pitpasses are $35.

Drivers will draw in the pits at the check-in tables

Grandstand gates will open at 1PM and Adult Admission is only $20.

The top 8 in passing points in all clases will redraw for starting spots for the A features.This will be done at the break as track prep is taking place.Raceceivers are required and drivers will need to provide their own.The Speedway does not supply or rent.Camping will be available at the track Friday-No Hook-ups as security will be on hand.The host Hotel will be the Ramada Inn Oasis Convention Center located at 2536 N.Glenstone with a racer rate of $71.Contact them at 417-866-5253.
