LA MONTE, Mo. (Dec. 23) – USRA-sanctioned Modifieds will be a part of the weekly Friday night program at the LA Raceway in La Monte, Mo., during the 2012 racing season.
“LA Raceway is entering its tenth year of racing and we are very excited to announce that our A Modifieds will be sanctioned with USRA in 2012,” said the track’s co-owner, Mike White. “The USRA is seeing tremendous growth and has a rules package that is fair and cost-effective without sacrificing close competition.
Drivers in the USRA RHS Modified division will compete for a points fund worth $1,500 at season’s end to the track champion and a $10,000 top prize awaiting the division’s national champion in the USRA Weekly Racing Series.
“Our talented drivers can now race for a track points fund as well as a national points fund, and with LA Raceway being among other area tracks that are also USRA our drivers can complete on multiple tracks for USRA local and national points,” White added.
“Also, with USRA comes a gold-plated insurance program that covers individuals up to $100,000 when racing with us. We look forward to sanctioning other classes with USRA in years to come.”
The 2012 racing season will start with a bang as the USMTS Modifieds invade the LA Raceway on Friday, March 23. A practice session will also be held on Saturday, March 24. Weekly racing featuring the USRA RHS Modifieds begins Saturday, March 31, before the track switches back to regular Friday night shows on April 27.
The defending Pitt’s Homes Modified track champion is Terry Schultz of Sedalia, Mo. Weekly programs at the 3/8-mile clay oval also include B-Mods, 305 Sprint Cars, Street Stocks and Hobby Stocks.
