Springfield Raceway Turkey Classic To Start-Up Southwest Missouri Racing Season-Countdown Begins

Springfield RacewaySpringfield,Mo.-The countdown for the running of the 5th annual O’Reilly Turkey Classic presented by Bad Boy Mowers has begun as this stellar event will kick-off the Racing season in Southwest Missouri on Sat March 10th at the Springfield Raceway in Springfield,Mo.

Action will feature LateModels,USRA A-Modifieds,B-Modifieds and Legend Cars as everyone will be bringing fresh equipment to this always exciting event.

LateModels(MARS/MLRA type Rules) will run on the Hoosier WRS D55 or Hoosier LM 40 tire rule and for those Crate LateModel racers the NE Smith Chevrolet rules will apply.Crate LateModels must run those tires on the rear of the car.

A $2,000 payday will await the winner while just making the Main Event pays $300 to start while drivers not advancing but competing in their last chance races pocket $110.LateModel entry Fee is $100 as Show-Me Racing Series kingpin Justin Wells of Aurora looks to defend his event title from 2010.

The big talk throughout the circles is the payday that awaits the USRA A-Mod feature runners.Drivers without a USRA License may purchase a temp license at the track for only $10.

No spoilers will be allowed on the A-Mods,the event will be sanctioned to give USRA RHS National points and $1200 will go to the winner while making the feature pays $400 to start.

The Chip rule and weight rules are in effect per the USRA rulebook and drivers may run either the American Racer KK704 G-60 tire or the IMCA Stamped Hoosier G-60.Entry fee is $100 and drivers not advancing to the feature but who compete in the last chance races pocket $110.

In 2010 Springfield regular Jody Tillman topped over 70 other A-Mods to become the 4th different winner in this event as he held off a hard charging Chad Lyle in securing his biggest win.

The poplar B-Mods have a different few rule packages to allow everyone a chance to compete and be equal as they battle for $750 to win and $110 to start the feature.Non-qualifiers who compete in their last chance events pocket $80 while the Entry Fee is only $40.

In 2010 Iowa’s Jesse Sobbing came from 10th starting spot in his IMCA legal Northern Sportmod to take the victory over 60 plus entries.

INEX Legend Cars help round out an exciting event to help kick-off the 2012 season in this weather dated event.Legends will battle for $300 to win and $35 to start the feature with no entry fee.

Raceceivers are required and it is the drivers responsibility to provide them as the track does not rent them.

The top 8 in all 4 class in passing points will redraw for their starting spots.

Pitpasses will be $35 while Adult Grandstand Admission is only $20 while kids prices in the Grandstands are only $5 for those 6-12 years and under 6 Free.

The pitgates will open up at 11AM on March 10th while hotlaps are scheduled to begin at 2PM.

The draw closes at 3PM and drivers arriving after that will not receive passing points only points in the heat race position.Drivers meeting is slated for 3:30 and the first race to start at 4PM.

Weather date for the Turkey Classic is set for Sat March 24th.

The Turkey Classic has become the signature event in the 4 state area and the high-light event at the Quick-Quarter.In 2010 over 180 race teams checked-in to compete.
