Countdown To The Springfield Turkey Classic Has Begun-Can Anyone Repeat

Springfield RacewaySpringfield,Mo.-The official countdown to the 5th Annual O’Reilly Turkey Classic presented by Bad Boy Mowers at the “Quick-Quarter of the SpringfieldRaceway has begun.

Sat March 10th,the Racing season in Southwest Missouri will begin with one of the biggest races in the 4-State area as LateModels,USRA A-Mods,B-Mods and Legends will take to the track in search of making this annual attended event.

This will be the 3rd year of the format of Late Models,A-Mods,B-Mods and Legends as drivers get a chance to bring fresh equipment to this season opener.
The pitgates will open up at 11AM on March 10th while hotlaps are scheduled to begin at 2PM.

The draw closes at 3PM and drivers arriving after that will not receive passing points only points in the heat race position.Drivers meeting is slated for 3:30 and the first race to start at 4PM.

Weather date for the Turkey Classic is set for Sat March 24th.

New this season is a chance for A-Mod drivers to gather USRA RHS National points right out of the box as the track will sanction this event.A-Mod drivers will run under USRA rules except for the following, NO Spoilers on the car and drivers will need to have a USRA License.A temporary license can be purchased that day for $10.Also a larger payout for the A-Mods down the line in the 20 car field.the Chip rules are enforced at Springfield.$1200 goes to the feature winner while making the A feature pays $400 to start.Car entry Fee is $100 while non-qualifiers competing in their last chance races pocket $110.

Latemodels will run under the MARS/MLRA rules and tires allowed will be either the Hoosier WRS D55 or Hoosier LM40.Crate LateModels will compete under the NE Smith Chevrolet rules and rear tires must be either WRS D55’s or LM 40’s.

A $2,000 payday will await the winner while just making the Main Event pays $300 to start while drivers not advancing but competing in their last chance races pocket $110.LateModel entry Fee is $100 as Show-Me Racing Series kingpin Justin Wells of Aurora looks to defend his event title from 2010.

The popular B-Mods have a different few rule packages to allow everyone a chance to compete and be equal as they battle for $750 to win and $110 to start the feature.Non-qualifiers who compete in their last chance events pocket $80 while the Entry Fee is only $40.

In 2010 Iowa’s Jesse Sobbing came from 10th starting spot in his IMCA legal Northern Sportmod to take the victory over 60 plus entries.

INEX Legends allows provide 3-4 wide racing and also help high-light the event in a $300 to win and $35 to start feature with no entry fee.

Raceceivers are required and it is the drivers responsibility to provide them as the track does not rent them.

The top 8 in all 4 class in passing points will redraw for their starting spots.

Pitpasses will be $35 while Adult Grandstand Admission is only $20 while kids prices in the Grandstands are only $5 for those 6-12 years and under 6 Free.
