Details are being finalized for the tenth season for the L A Raceway at LaMonte, Missouri and the first event is just only weeks away.
March 23 will be the first of two events in 2012 to include the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS). The USMTS is the fastest growing and most popular Dirt Modified touring series in the country. Attracting some of the most talented and professional drivers in America, the fan friendly format and exciting show creates an enthusiastic and loyal fan base, and the USMTS routinely competes in front of capacity crowds. And when it comes to a touring series that features the Best of the Best in Modified racing, the USMTS has no equal. Todd Staley and the USMTS crew will bring a Casey’s Cup Qualifier plus a USRA Iron Man Challenge for B Modifieds and Stock cars to the wide, smooth 3/8 mile clay oval at LaMonte on Friday, March 23. The USMTS will return on Friday, May 4 with a USMTS National Championship Series event sponsored by W-K Chevrolet.
The ASCS Warrior Region 360 Winged Sprint Cars will make 4 appearances at the LaMonte track this season. The extremely popular ASCS 360 Winged Sprints will be featured on Saturday nights , April 14, May 26, June 16 and July 21. The new regional non-winged sprint series, the WAR, will be the support class for the ASCS 360 Sprint show on April 14.
For the first time in over five years, the MLRA Late Models will also roar around the 3/8 mile clay oval. The L A Raceway at LaMonte adds Saturday, June 2 to its 2012 schedule for the MLRA Late Models. According to Mike White “Harriett and I got together at Bodee’s auction in Springfield and it just came together. We are really looking forward to bringing the high powered excitement of the Lucas Oil Midwest Latemodels back to central Missouri for all the local late model fans.”
A mixed schedule of dates for the weekly points series featuring USRA sanctioned A Modifieds, 305 Winged Sprints, B Modifieds, Street Stocks and Hobby Stocks will start on Saturday nights, March 31 and April 7 before switching back to Friday nights on April 27.
An open practice date is scheduled for Saturday, March 17. L A Raceway is located only 12 minutes from Sedalia and only 5 minutes from WAFB on Y Highway .
