Greenbrier, Arkansas (03/06/12) – Jack Sullivan powered his #1 Triple A Diesel/GRT/Russell Baker Racing Engine Super Late Model to the $3,500 win over the weekend in the annual Texas Dirt Track World Championship.

After a rough start to the year, Jack was looking for something to get his season on track, and he would find just that on Saturday evening at The Dirt Track at Texas Motor Speedway (Justin, Texas) as he claimed his second career, Texas Dirt Track World Championship. Forty Super Late Models registered for battle in the $3,500-to-win, Southern United Professional Racers (SUPR) sanctioned event. Via preliminary action, Sullivan earned the fifth starting spot for the main event, and he would quickly work his way forward, overtaking leader, Will Vaught, on lap 14. Once out front Sullivan would never look back on his way to his first win of the 2012 campaign, which came over John Anderson, Morgan Bagley, Will Vaught, and Kevin Sitton. Full results are available at www.SUPRRacing.com.

Jack dedicated the win to several family and friends, “This win goes out to a lot of great friends, who have been going through some tough times. My girlfriend’s, Step-Father, Rusty Kirkey, is in the hospital extremely sick right now. One of my great sponsors, Dicky Allen with Triple A Diesel, is also really battling some health issues right now as is Russell Baker from Russell Baker Racing Engines. This win is dedicated to all of these people, who mean so much to us, because we are definitely racing with a heavy heart right now.”

Jack is slated to continue his 2012 season this weekend in the 2nd Annual Pelican 100 at Ark-La-Tex Speedway (Vivian, Louisiana). The $10,000-to-win event gets underway with an Open Practice on Thursday night before seeing time trials and heat race action contested on Friday evening. Saturday night’s event will be headlined by b-mains, a last chance qualifier, and the 100 lap finale. For more information, please visit www.ArkLaTexSpeedway.com .
