World of Outlaws Late Model SeriesVicksburg, MS (03/27/12) –Bub McCool powered his #57J McCool Logging/Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer/Jay Dickens Racing Engine Super Late Model to his first victory of the season over the weekend with a $2,500 triumph in Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) action.

Bub scored his first feature win of the 2012 season on Saturday night by out-dueling Klint Byars to pick up a $2,500 victory in the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) Super Late Model event at Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi). Twenty-nine Super Late Models entered the event, and McCool started the night by qualifying second fastest in his group to lock into the dash. In the dash he raced his way to a second place finish to earn the outside-front-row, starting spot for the main event, alongside Jason Cliburn. As the race went green Bub shot to the lead, and would maintain the top spot for the first 40 laps of the event. As the race entered its latter stages Klint Byars would move in to challenge for the lead, but McCool would hold him off to claim the win. Following McCool and Byars across the finish line were Jeremy Broadus, Brian Rickman, and Cliff Williams. Full results are available at www.StateSeries.com.

“It feels great to get our first win of the year. Klint sure made me work for it at the end. I would lying if I didn’t say I was sweating bullets,” laughs McCool.

This weekend, March 30th-31st, Bub will return to the World of Outlaws Super Late Model tour with the Illini 100 at Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Illinois). With $20,000 on the line McCool will be looking for his biggest career payday, while also looking to extend his Rookie of the Year point’s advantage.
