Springfield RacewaySpringfield,Mo.-After 2 very successful opening event specials, the staff at the Springfield Raceway are now getting ready to start their Transport Graphice Championship Chase on Sat April 21st.

Again this season,Transport Graphics of Springfield will be the title sponsor in the Chase for the Championship.Ken Walker and the staff have really stepped-up to the plate again this season as several drivers racing at the “Quick-Quarter” have been putting the Kwik-Skin wraps on their race cars.

Transport Graphics has been serving the Springfield and surrounding areas for over 20 years. What started as a simple vinyl lettering shop has grown to become a nationwide provider of high quality marketing products. For 2012,the Transport Graphics Championship Chase will feature the Budweiser USRA Modifieds,Reliable Chevrolet USRA B-Modifieds, Casey’s General Stores Midwest Modz,Wheeler Metals Legend Cars,Pepsi Pure Stocks and the Williams Preservation and Lawn Care Street Stocks.

New for 2012 will be a class to help get the younger generation into circle track racing and allow kids 12-16 a chance to graduate from karting and other forms of sports,The Young Gun Legend Cars. This class features kids ages 12-16 to compete in a Legend Car within their own division. At the March Madness recently held, the kids started with 4 entries, very positive for an early season event and is not only supported by the Springfield Raceway but also Motorhead events based out of Springfield which promotes several karting events during the winter months along with other indoor events.

Again this season the A-Modifieds will be racing under the USRA Banner sanctioned out of Iowa. This allows the drivers to not only compete for local track point funds, but also a shot at the USRA National money.Last season Arkansas veteran Johnny Bone Jr won $10,000 for his national title, while Springfield Raceway regulars, Jackie Dalton and Mitch Keeter each made the top 20 which pocketed them $500 each. The USRA bases National points on a drivers best 20 feature finishes during the season and rewards bonus points for car count and starting position.Last season Jackie Dalton took home his 5th Springfield track title and took home $1500 in grabbing the track championship while the top 10 Modified drivers took home point fund money. This season any USRA modified driver who races a CT 525 Crate motor and is the top finisher with that motor purchased from Reliable Chevy receives an extra $100,it not purchased from Reliable then $50.

For 2012,Springfield Raceway will also be sanctioned for the Reliable B-Modified class with again Reliable Chevrolet adding money for the top GM Performance 602 Crate motor feature finishers to the tune of $350. The top 602 Crate motor in the A-feature will take home an extra $125 with $100 going to the 2nd highest Crate motor,$75 and then $50.If the motor was not purchased from Reliable, then 1/2 the money posted will be distributed.

With the B-Modifieds running under the USRA sanction for 2012,it will give drivers in the area a shot at extra point fund money also as Monett Speedway(Sunday night Action) and Humboldt(Friday night action) will also be sanctioned.Current track B-Modified rules apply at both Springfield and Monett.

The Transport Graphics Chase will run through Sept.1 when track points end for all classes even though the speedway can still sanction for National points in other events.

With a strong showing of Legends and the rise of the Pure Stocks, fans will get plenty of action each Sat night as current plans have all races through Sept 1 as a tracks point race.

Defending champions include Jackie Dalton(USRA Modifieds),Bobby Maggard Jr(USRA B-Modifieds),Dave Comer(Legends),Jack Hamer(Pure Stocks),Trevor Drake(Midwest Modz).

The Street Stock class has fans looking forward to even more full bodied action as it has been since 2010 when the class ran weekly last.Jack Hamer won that championship and several drivers are getting equipment ready to do battle again.

Springfield Raceway will be having All Classes to use the Raceceiver Equipment this season and it is the drivers responsibilty to have a Raceceiver.
