WAR - Non Wing Sprint SeriesGrain Valley, MO(April 13, 2012)- Due to Chad Frewaldt being underweight at the scales, J.D. Black was declared the winner of the inaugural race for the Wingless Auto Racers at Valley Speedway Friday night.

Black led early from his front row starting spot as outside front row starter Brian Beebe gave chase.    After leading the first two laps, Black climbed the cushion and lost two positions as Frewaldt would take command with Beebe in tow.  Frewaldt and Beebe continued to be the lead pair over the next few laps until lap eight when Beebe slipped high allowing Black to take back second.
The action would come to stop on lap eight as top ten runners Mitchell Moore and Chris Morgan got together in turn four.  Moore would spin out while Morgan was able to do a 360 and keep his sprinter powered.
On the restart, Frewaldt again took command as he was followed by Black and Beebe.  A lap later, Austin Alumbaugh would work his way past Beebe and into the top three.  The lead trio would stay this way until lap twelve when Frank Brown and Josh Stephens tangled in turn four with both drivers flipping and ending their evening.  During the red flag, bad luck struck Alumbaugh as he had to change a left rear tire forcing him to go to the tail for the restart.

Frewaldt again took command on the restart  and stretched his lead over Black to nearly a full straightaway by the time he took the checkered flag.  Due to Frewaldt  being underweight at the scales, Black was declared the winner in his S&S Electric/Joseph Lane Homes Maxim that was powered by a Bulldog 305 engine.  Besides the winner’s share of the purse, Black also won a new toolbox courtesy of Waterloo Industries.  Kenny Potter was second in his Dayco Painting Triple X with Wesmar power.  Morgan was third in the Griffith Truck Equipment/Red Tail Painting/Greenworks Nursery JEI with Parker power.  Running fourth was John Helm in the Helm Racing Eagle with Wesmar power.  Rounding out the top five was Chad Shields.  Moore rebounded from his early spin to finish sixth followed by Jeff Wingate and Chris Parkinson.  Rounding out the top ten was Taylor Walton and Alumbaugh.

Wingless Auto Racers will be back in action on Saturday April 14th at LA Raceway in LaMonte, MO.
