In just a few days, ULMA drivers will compete at the ‘Historic Half Mile’ in Sedalia, Missouri, on what will likely be one of the biggest ULMA events drivers have ever competed in. ULMA will serve as the support class for the immensely popular World of Outlaws sprint cars, returning to the half mile for the first time since 2010 this Friday, April 20th. The ULMA portion of the race received an extra boost when two race fans, also local businessmen, answered the call for business partners to team with ULMA to increase the purse and ULMA extends its sincerest thanks to these businesses for their support.

Midland Printing & Promotional Products, Inc. will award one driver a $100 bonus for a mystery finish from the results of the late model main event. Midland Printing, which is located at 1021 South Ohio in Sedalia, Missouri, is a long-time race supporter at the Missouri State Fair Speedway. Printing services include brochures, business cards, invites, newsletters, flyers, informational postcards, hero cards, and much more! Saddle stitching, numbering, folding and die-cutting are available plus office supplies and stamping. Paper towels, can liners, napkins, and much more are available on the janitorial side of the business. Contact Barry today at 800-483-3480, or email midland0096@sbcglobal.net for more information.

General Fence, LLC takes care of your Residential and Commercial Fencing needs and now they are taking care of ULMA drivers with added money to the late model purse. Aluminum, Vinyl, Iron, and Wood fencing are just a few of General Fence, LLC’s specialties. Protect your properties and rest assured your home or business is protected from trespassers. From the charm of white picket fencing to the dependability of a chain link fence, General Fence, LLC should be your one and only stop when the need for fencing arises. Visit them online at www.generalfencellc.com, contact Jeff at jeffgvmo@comcast.net, or call him at 816-847-6386. ULMA also thanks Clint Brown for his support and assistance during the scheduling and arrangement of this event. Fans may visit www.slspromotions.com for reserved seating for the WoO/ULMA event or call 815-344-2023 for ticketing sales and information.

Extra purse money is also on the line this Saturday night as Lucas Oil Speedway, which opens its 2012 weekly racing program with $1,000 up for grabs to the ULMA feature race winner. Gates open at 5 with racing kicking off at 7. Adult general admission is $12, senior citizens age 62 and up are $8, Youth age 6-15 just $5 and kids age 5 & under always free. Family Passes include two adult admissions and up to three youth, for only $25. Show Your AAA Membership Card at the gate and receive $3 off any Adult or Senior General Admission Ticket. A limited number of VIP Suites are available for Saturday’s event. Contact Cheri Boehler (417)282-5984 for more information.

Last weekend, ULMA drivers Larry Jones, Jason Russell, and Chris Morelock participated in the MLRA race program at Lucas Oil Speedway and raced their way into the main event all on their own, not needing one of two ULMA provisional starting spots offered to participating ULMA drivers. These drivers and Mike Berger earned ULMA points for competing in this team effort. There are three additional races in which MLRA and ULMA will pair up for the benefit of late model racing, look for more information throughout the year. For additional information about Lucas Oil Speedway, visit them online at www.lucasoilspeedway.com.

Last Friday’s action at Callaway Raceway was washed out by Mother Nature but the track is set for round two of its weekly race program again this Friday as the track comes back to life with another full race program. Jason Russell captured the first win of the season two weeks ago at the raceway and currently leads the overall ULMA standings. Who will take the win this Friday is anyone’s guess; for additional information visit www.callawayraceways.com for race day details. With three chances to earn points this weekend, the point standings will definitely change when they are released early next week.

Visit www.ulmaracing.com for race results, rules, general rules, and an update on point standings after the final checkered flag falls this weekend. Like ULMA on FaceBook to stay current on the latest racing developments leading up to and after all ULMA racing activity. Driver membership forms are easily accessible on the association’s website under the Drivers link. Driver dues are $100 this season, membership is mandatory at Lucas Oil Speedway, Callaway Raceway, and upon the third time competing at Valley Speedway, where the next event is Friday, May 11. Note, mention of drivers does not guarantee race appearance at ULMA events.
This year’s affiliated sponsors include Imhoff Construction, Rod End Supply, Buyraceparts.com, General Fence LLC, Midland Printing, Racingjunk.com, and Photographics by Shelly Payne. ULMA is a proud supporter of Homes for Our Troops. To join the team, or to request addition to ULMA’s email group, send your request to unitedlatemodelassociation@hotmail.com.
