Lucas Oil SpeedwayWheatland, MO (April 22nd, 2012) – FindItHere.com Night kicked off the Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Championship Series at the Spring Opener on Saturday night. Beautiful weather, a record ALPS Food Stores ULMA Late Model car count, large crowd, surprise bonus money for the DJ’s RV B-Modifieds and even a first time visit to Lucas Oil Speedway Victory Lane on Paden Phillips first ever visit to Wheatland, Missouri are some of the highlights of Saturday’s spectacular event. Ron’s Racing Collectibles presented 500 Diecast Race Cars to kids in attendance and the MOChip ID Program gave many families free child ID kits. In addition to Paden Phillips from Chanute, KS winning the Pitts Homes A-Modified Feature on his first visit to Lucas Oil Speedway, Chris Jackson from Springfield, Missouri claimed the opening night victory in the new DJ’s RV B-Modified class. In the Carson’s Corner Napa Factory Stocks, no stranger to Victory Lane, Sundance Keepper took the checkers. In the feature event of the night paying $1,000 to Win by Lucas Marine Products, the ALPS Food Store ULMA winner, Tommy Cordray of Browning, MO held off multiple challengers for the lead to take the win.

In the first feature event of the night, the DJ’s RV B-Modifieds rolled out for a 20 lap feature. Drivers were unaware class sponsor DJ’s RV Sales and Service were paying an additional $250 cash to the winner. Kris Jackson from Lebanon, MO in the #65, was quick to take the lead and stay out front to cross the AAA Missouri Finish Line ahead of the field. Jackson edged Shawn Strong to keep his lead after a late race caution. Strong challenged a couple times for the lead and ended the race in second place. Stephen Muilenburg from Sedalia, MO finished third with Jeff Miller’s #17 from Hermitage, MO in fourth. Stacey Hall from Bolivar, MO rounded out the top five. In Victory Lane Dwight Brown awarded Jackson with the bonus cash and thanked him for running opening night in the DJ’s RV B-Modifieds.

Next out were the Carson’s Corner Napa Factory Stocks. A strong field of the areas best Factory Stock drivers returned to run for the second week in a row. Sundance Keepper knows his was around Lucas Oil Speedway and cruised into Victory Lane in the 6 7/8. Keepper from Everton, MO is the 2011 Lucas Oil Speedway Factory Stock Champion. Keepper was also running special FindItHere.com logos on his car provided by the event sponsor. Republic, Missouri’s Burl Woods was not far behind finishing in second place and from Warrensburg, MO, Mark Bitner, finished third. Johnny Coats and Ben Solburg completed the top five.

The Pitts Homes USRA A-Modifieds rolled out for the third feature event of the night. Paden Phillips from Chanute, KS had never raced at Lucas Oil Speedway and had not won a feature race in three years. Phillips won his heat and ran out front ending his night in Victory Lane. Excited, to say the least, Phillips thanked his family, sponsors and God after the race, he commented that he loved the facility and the track at Lucas Oil Speedway and was excited to race here again. Behind Phillips several battles for position took place throughout the feature. Shawn Nations from Macks Creek, MO won his heat race and looked strong through the feature. Nations ran in second for awhile before falling back finishing sixth. Terry Schultz from Sedalia, MO finished in the number two spot followed by Stephen Muilenburg from Sparta, MO. Jason Russel from Henley, MO worked his way to a fourth place finish with Tim Setzer from Archie, MO finishing fifth.

In the feature event of the night, the ALPS Food Stores UMLA Late Models had 35 cars in attendance, a record field for ULMA. $1000 to Win presented by Lucas Oil Marine Products was awarded to Tommy Cordray from Browning, MO. Cordray had multiple opponents challenge him for the lead and battled lap after lap for position. Jason Russel of Henley, Missouri ran with Cordray side by side for awhile, Russel was involved in a late race caution when a lapped car re-entered the track from the infield. Russel had to be towed off the track, a bad break from the very quick #2. Jeremy Kelley from Walnut Grove battled with Brandon Imhoff of Lake Ozark, MO for second position and eventually both drivers challenged Cordray’s lead with only a few laps remaining. A three way race for the lead had fans on the edge of their seats. In the end Cordray walked away with the $1000 and a beautiful crystal and marble trophy.
