World of Outlaws Late Model SeriesTuscumbia, Alabama (04/24/12) – This Friday, April 27th the World of Outlaws (WoO) Super Late Models will invade North Alabama Speedway (Tuscumbia, Alabama) for an event that will boast the richest payout in the history of the facility with almost $50,000 in cash up for grabs.

For the first time in over three years a national tour will be invading the wicked-fast, 1/3 mile oval at North Alabama Speedway. The event will mark the first time since 2007 that the World of Outlaws tour has been at the facility. While national tours have been to the track in the past, they’ve never been there for a race of this caliber or purse as a $10,000-to-win/$700-to-start purse has been posted for the 50 lap event as many of the top national, regional, and local drivers plan to take a swing at the win.

National drivers expected include current WoO point’s leader, Darrell Lanigan from Union, Kentucky as well as Josh Richards (West Virginia), Rick Eckert (Pennsylvania), Shane Clanton (Georgia), Chub Frank (Pennsylvania), Vic Coffey (New York), Tim McCreadie (New York), Clint Smith (Georgia), Bub McCool (Mississippi), Jack Sullivan (Arkansas), Pat Doar (Wisconsin), Mike Marlar (Tennessee), Kent Robinson (Indiana), Ray Cook (North Carolina), John Lobb (North Carolina), and more.

A strong contingent of regional and local drivers also have the event in their crosshairs as they look to upset the travelers. Drivers indicating a possible intent to enter the event include Ronny Lee Hollingsworth, Tim Busha, Rick Rickman, Josh Putnam, Brian Rickman, Chad Winkles, Ray Moore, Tony Knowles, Dylan Ames, Brian Reese, Riley Hickman, and more.

Also on the card will be Crate Late Models/Late Model Stocks battling for $600-to-win/$50-to-start as well as Modified Street and Mini Stocks.

The pit gate opens at 3pm with grandstand gates opening at 4pm. The driver’s meeting is slated for 7pm with hot laps to follow. Racing action is scheduled for 8pm.

Adult grandstand admission is $25 with ages 12 and under free. Pit admission is $35 for adults, $20 for ages 7-12, and ages 6 & under free.
