Lucas Oil Late Model Series(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Wendell Wallace reached victory lane for the second time in 2012 on Saturday night, April 28 at the Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, Mississippi! Wendell did not lock himself into the A-Main through qualifying, but instead finished second in his B-Main to earn the tenth starting spot in the unsanctioned main event. The Batesville, Arkansas hotshoe then stormed through the field and eventually grabbed the top spot with about five laps remaining in the ‘Roofing with Strength 40.’ Wendell picked up the $2,500 paycheck by beating Chad Thrash, Duke Whiseant, Jason Cliburn, and Billy Moyer, Jr. to the checkers!

Earlier in the weekend, the #6m team entered a $10,000 to win World of Outlaws Late Model Series program at the North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Alabama on Friday evening, April 27. Unfortunately, Wendell suffered mechanical issues under the hood during the qualifying session and he was forced to scratch from the remainder of the show. Complete results from both North Alabama and Jackson can be viewed by clicking on www.dirtondirt.com.

“That was a good win for us at Jackson on Saturday,” stated Wallace this week via telephone. “I didn’t get timed in like I should have, but we were able to run second in the B-Main to get in the show. Then in the feature, my car really came alive and I was able to work my way up through the field. Hopefully, we learned some things that will translate into some success this weekend at Granite City and Paducah!”

Wendell and the #6m gang will look for more success this upcoming weekend (May 4-5) in a pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series showdowns in the states of Illinois and Kentucky. On Friday night, the Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois will play host to a $10,000 to win battle, while the Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky will do the same on Saturday evening. Both shows will be headlined by a ground-pounding 50-lap feature event. Additional information on both races can be accessed by logging onto www.lucasdirt.com.
