Lucas Oil SpeedwayWheatland, MO (May 13th, 2012) – Saturday night at Lucas Oil Speedway the 3rd Annual Business Expo and Coyote 107.9 Night at the Races, was filled with family fun and great racing action. Fans enjoyed browsing displays and purchasing items from local businesses, while the Coyote 107.9 broadcast live from the Midway. Racing rolled out on the track with a strong field of regular weekly drivers and several newcomers. The Carson’s Corner Napa Factory Stocks raced for bonus money with $500 to Win Presented by TNT Quick Shop, thanks to TNT for supporting the Factory Stock class. DJ’s RV B-Modifieds were first in action with Shawn Strong from Billings, Missouri, picking up another win in 2012. In the ALPS Food Store ULMA Late Models, Jason Russell from Henley, Missouri put his #2 machine in Victory Lane. Jamie Ragland from Lebanon, Missouri, took the checkers in the Pitts Homes A-Modifieds and Burl Woods claimed the extra cash and the win in the Carson’s Corner Napa Factory Stocks.

DJ’s RV B-Modifieds were first out on a beautiful evening at Lucas Oil Speedway. Shawn Strong (Billings, MO), started out front and stayed there. Kris Jackson from Lebanon, Missouri and Strong are the only two drivers in Lucas Oil Speedway Victory Lane in the DJ’s RV B-Modifieds, so far in 2012. Jackson started in second for the feature and also finished his night there. The two put on a great show for fans the entire 20 lap feature. Jeff Miller from Hermitage, Missouri finished in the number three spot with Stephen Mulinburg from Sparta just behind in fourth. Ben Solberg pulled double duty racing a B-Modified and Factory Stock, Solberg finished in fifth. Solberg was the Hard Charger starting in 17th.

Next up, the ALPS Food Stores ULMA Late Models lined up Jason Russell (Henley, MO), and Jeremy Kelly from Walnut Grove, Missouri out front to take the green flag. Russell jumped out to an early lead and never wavered. Several cautions allowed the field to reset behind Russell, however, he checked out each restart and held on for a victory. Jeremy Kelly ran solid finishing behind Russell in second with Phil Edmondson from Marionville, Missouri finishing in third. Brandon Imhoff from Lake Ozark, Missouri finished the feature event in fourth, with the #99 of Larry Jones from El Dorado, Missouri rounding out the top five. Justin Russel was the ALPS Food Store ULMA Hard Charger of the night coming from a 17th starting spot to finish 7th.

Pitts Homes USRA A-Modifieds had a field of 32 of the areas top modified drivers in attendance, Saturday night. Paden Phillips from Chanute, KS started on the pole with Jamie Ragland (Lebanon, MO) in second. The two had an all out duel for the lead. Lap after lap, caution after caution, the young hot shoe Phillips and former Track Champion, Jamie Ragland, were both out for the win. Phillips went for the lead mid-race, trying to push Ragland out of the way. Ragland held steady and kept the lead. Phillips dropped back and eventually exited the track. Terry Schultz from Sedalia, Missouri recorded a second place finish, after starting seventh. Jon Sheets from Nevada, Missouri ran with the front pack all night and finished in third. Stephen Muilenburg from Sparta, Missouri ended up fourth with Eddie Bray Jr. from Archie, Missouri taking the checkers in fifth. Jason Pursley from Wheatland, Missouri won the B-Feature to start 17th in the main event, he was the race Hard Charger with a sixth place finish.

Up for $500 to Win by TNT Quick Shop, the Carson’s Corner Napa Factory Stocks were out next for the final feature of the night. Ben Solberg from Springfield, Missouri started the feature from the pole. Local fan favorite, Chip Shaddox started in second. The entire 25 lap race nearly went caution free. On lap 22 a caution restarted the field, followed quickly by a second caution. Burl Woods from Republic, Missouri started the feature in six and worked his way up to run for the top spot. Woods charged by the lead pack late in the race to eventually claim the $500 and the Win. Solberg finished second, Derek Brown from Stoutland, Missouri took third. Sundance Keepper from Everton, Missouri finished fourth with Mark Carter from Warrensburg, Missouri in fifth. Greg Borden from Kimberling City, Missouri was the Cason’s Corner Napa Factory Stocks Hard Charger, Borden started in 20th and finished 14th.
