Saturday June 9th,The Power I National Midget Series returns to the “Quick-Quarter” for their second ever visit to Springfield Raceway.Last season National Champion Brad Loyet found the top groove around the Springfield Banks and charged to a victory as 2-3 wide racing was the call all night.Nearby National Driver Andrew Felker of Carl Junction,Missouri  and many other local drivers will have a short trip as they call Springfield a home track for the trip.A full Transport Graphics Point events will help fill out the excitement.

June 16th will feature a normal exciting Points event for all classes as the Speedway prepares to finish June in Grand Style.

June 30th will feature the 2nd Annual Rob Burgess Memorial featuring a $500 to win for this exciting class.Rob Burgess of Leslie Floors in the Joplin area was a strong supporter and friend of the local racing scene and loved the Midwest Modz. This race is only for Midwest Modz drivers in the area,no upper division drivers may compete and you must run only the Midwest Modz class.

“Rob loved this class and the concept of getting the cost down for Modified Racing.” quoted co-owner Jerry Hoffman.’That is why no B-Mod,A-Mod,Factory Stock drivers allowed. We want this event for the little guys who support the class night after night in the area. This is their night to shine and that is the way Rob wanted it.A very unique trophy awaited the winner last season as Burgess was an avid bowler. His Bowling Ball was mounted into a special trophy with his daughter Jessica presenting it last season to winner Trevor Drake as he bested 23 other Midwest Modz drivers in grabbing the win.The race will be a tracks point event, but will open draw with a top 8 redraw for starting spots.
