Lebanon MidwayLots of last lap action saw several more new winners Saturday Night at the Midway Speedway while point leader Brian Schutt took his second win of the season.

In the Factory Stock feature current point leader Brian Schutt of Lebanon became the 1st 2-time winner as he took the lead from Brandon Waters on the 2nd lap and held off Bob Gustin in a wild feature which saw several drivers in and out of the pits.Gustin was right behind Schutt until lap 12 when Brandon Waters moved into second place only to go backwards on the final 2 laps.It was Schutt’s second win of the season as he tries to extend the point lead over Gustin.Gustin,Dylan Keepper,Tim Petty and Waters completed the top 5 as last weeks winner Mark Simon rallied late for a sixth place finish.10 of the 15 starters complete all 15 laps.

The B Modified feature new winners streak stayed alive as DeWayne Hobbs took the lead on the 13th lap from Cody Nivens after Nivens had spun while in traffic to become yet another new winner.Nivens came charging back in the last couple of laps, but Hobbs wasn’t to be denied the win.Nivens had paced the field from the opening green flag from Corey Pritchard and found Bill Schaar putting on pressure.Hobbs starting tonight in the 6th starting spot ans moved around Schaar on lap 5 while last weeks winner and current point leader Ted Ballinger was charging forward.Hobbs was able to hold off both Ballinger and Nivens for the win with Nivens,Ballinger,Schaar and Brian Myers following.

With the streak on the line in the Street Stock class all eyes were on Mark Simon in the Travelin Wagon trying to come from the back row yet again.Richard Adams and female driver Karla Lampe brought the feature to the green flag with Adams leading the opening 2 laps until Lampe took the lead on lap 3.Defending track champion Joe Francis quietly moved to the second place spot behind leader Lampe by lap 4 and applied pressure.Lampe looking for her first win was holding off Francis as point leader Simon was racing with Adams.Caution waved with only 2 laps to go as Matt Darnell brought out the caution. This set-up a green, white checkered finish as Francis would make the winning move on the final lap and ended the Simon streak as Simon finished third.Following the top 3 were early leader Adams and Brandon Henderson.

The Pure Stock event featured a back and forth battle between the top 2 in points all night long.Defending track champion Matt Young took the lead from the 4th starting spot on the opening lap with Jim Alexstates behind.Current point leader Rob White moved behind Young on the lap 3 restart and the battle was on.On the 6th lap,White took over the lead and held it until lap 10 when Young came right back.Back and forth they went until lap 12 when Young got back in front and held off White for the win. After the lead duo it was Jim Alexstates,Christopher Sawyer and Mike Walker.

The Midwest Modified feature event also found a rookie driver taking his first ever win and stopping the Sam Petty Streak.Billy Pearce would grab the opening lead with Travis Hill behind.Pearce would lead the opening 6 laps before a Sam Petty and Travis Hill battle went by him. This race went back and forth as Pearce was setting into third place. With Hill and Petty going at it,the 14th lap would change the outcome as Hill went around and Petty slowed and stopped to avoid a wreck. Both cars were sent to the back of the field as Pearce was now your new leader. The Camdenton rookie driver would lead the final lap to grab the victory with Petty charging hard to secure second place with Mark Davis,Troy Young and Hill completing the top 5.

Kids bike races at intermission allowed the younger generation fans a chance to race on the track.
