(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) The Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) team made the short trek to the nearby Batesville Motor Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas on May 18-19 for the inaugural running of the ‘Bad Boy 98.’ The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series presided over the unique event, which provided the winner with $10,000 and a new 2012 Chevy Camaro. In preliminary action on Friday night, Billy Moyer set quick time of the 48 entrants during qualifying and later won his loaded heat race.
After starting the 98-lapper from the pole position on Saturday evening, Billy paced the stellar field for the first eleven circuits in the ‘Bad Boy 98.’ The popular driver known as “Mr. Smooth” kept his #21 in sight of the leader throughout the remainder of the distance and eventually recorded a strong runner-up performance. Another Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series mega-event awaits the BMR team on May 25-26 in the Show-Me State of Missouri. The 20th Annual ‘DART Show-Me 100’ presented by ProtectTheHarvest.com will take place on Friday and Saturday at the immaculate Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. The 100-lapper on Saturday night, which will be taped for broadcast on CBS, CBS Sports, SPEED, and MAVTV Networks in 2012, will pay $30,000 to the winner. Billy is a three-time victor of the ‘Show-Me 100’ (1993, 1994, 1996), with all three wins coming at the venerable West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, Missouri.
Following the ‘Show-Me 100,’ the #21 team is scheduled to make the overnight jaunt to the Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois for the annual running of the ‘Budweiser 50.’ The one-day UMP program at the St. Louis area venue on Sunday, May 27 boasts a $10,000 paycheck.
