Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer Billy Moyer racked up his eleventh victory of the 2012 campaign on Sunday, May 27 at the Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois! Billy won his heat race and later ran third in the dash to earn the inside second row starting spot in the annual ‘Budweiser 50.’ During the course of the unsanctioned 50-lapper, Billy hung around the leaders and eventually worked his way past leader Jimmy Mars on the thirty-second circuit. The Batesville, Arkansas hotshoe then lead the remainder of the distance en route to capturing the $10,000 payday ahead of Mars, Brian Birkhofer, Steve Francis, and Brian Shirley.

Earlier in the weekend, the #21 team was in action during the 20th Annual ‘DART Show-Me 100′ at the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. Billy timed in fourth quickest in his group during Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series qualifying and later won his loaded heat race on Friday night. When Saturday rolled around, Billy drove his Victory Circle by Moyer #21 entry to a solid fifth place performance in the $30,000 to win crown jewel event, as he finished behind only winner Jimmy Owens, John Blankenship, Dennis Erb, Jr., and Austin Hubbard. The popular driver known as “Mr. Smooth” also won the “Race of Champions” during the big weekend at Wheatland, which netted him an extra $1,000 bonus. Full results can be obtained by clicking on www.dirtondirt.com.

“We always seem to be pretty quick at Granite City and our car on Sunday in the Budweiser 50 was another fast hotrod,” exclaimed Moyer this week from his race shop. “It was a good race between all of us up there, (Jimmy) Mars and (Steve) Francis battled for awhile and then we were able to pick our way up through there to grab the lead. Then at Wheatland, we really had a pretty good weekend there too. That place hasn’t been all that kind to us in recent years, so to come out of there with a top five wasn’t too bad.”

Coming off a busy weekend and the $100,000 to win ‘Dream 100’ just around the corner, the Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) team has opted to compete in one single Dirt Late Model event this upcoming weekend. The newly renamed Federated Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri will play host to the third and final round of the MARS DIRTcar Series sanctioned ‘Tri-Track Challenge’ on Saturday night, June 2. The one-day battle at Pevely boasts a $5,000 top prize. Additional information can be viewed by logging onto www.marsracingseries.com.
