Last week Matt Miller had the Factory feature won until he spun late in the feature.This week, Miller in only his second race of the season,took advantage of leader Donnie Miller’s flat tire on lap 7 to take his first Factory feature win of the season at the Midway Speedway in Lebanon while defending B Mod champion Michael Stake drove to victory.
Donnie Miller took the opening lead from Matt Miller on the start of the 15 lap feature.Donnie started to pull away as Matt Miller and Dylan Keepper raced for second place.With Donnie Miller pulling away leaving the race for second place.On lap 6,Miller slwed and pulled into the pits with a flat tire giving Matt Miller the lead with Dylan Keepper and Bob Gustin battling.Gustin moved into the second place spot as current point leader Tim Petty was rallying from the 11th starting place.Miller would hold off Gustin’s attempts to take win number 1 of the season with Gustin, Petty, D Keepper and Mark Simon completing the top 5 in a close feature event.
Defending and 2 time B Modified champion Michael Stake took the top spot from current point leader Ted Ballinger on the 7th lap and held off a late surge from deWayne Hobbs to capture his second win of the season. Ballinger took the opening spot from Stake on the start from his pole position place over Stake as Michael Jones was holding third spot.Stake closed-up the gap on Ballinger and made the winning move just before the 7th lap.Hobbs and Ballinger went back and forth before Hobbs took the place and moved in on leader Stake.Despite Hobbs late rally,Stake crossed ahead as Hobbs,early leader Ballinger,Greg Strong and Bill Schaar completed the top 5 runners.
Pure Stock point leader Rob White caame from the rear of the starting field and overtook leader Matt young on lap 12 to get his 6th points win of the season.Tyler Schoen grabbed the opening lead from Young on the start with Larry Flaugher and Stacye Francis following.On lap 4,Schoen moved around Young to take the lead as White who started 9th tonight was into the top 3 by lap 5.Young grabbed the lead back on lap 6 with Schoen, White and Flaugher followed.A couple of cautions waved mid race bunching the field-up tight.Young again took command as White moved into second place on lap 11.After a great side by side race,White grabbed the top spot and held off a late rally by White in recording the feature.Young, early leader Schoen,Flaugher and Jim Alexstates rounded out the top 5 runners in another exciting feature.
Midwest Modified point leader Sam Petty grabbed the lead on lap 3 taking advantage of leaders Chris Cheever and Earl Muilenburg and drove away in taking his 8th feature event of the Midway points chase.Earl Muilenburg took the opening spot over Chris Cheever as Cheever took the lead on lap 2. While leading, Cheever slowed in the corner and Muilnburg made hard contact eliminating both drivers from action.Petty then went uncontested in taking the feature even with Donnie Gennings driving Travis Hill’s car tonight in the runner-up position with Billy Pearce and Troy Young following.
The Street Stock feature had problems putting the field in the pits early tonight,as lady driver Karla Lampe took her first ever feature win at Midway.Rookie Brandon Henderson took the opening lead over Lampe.Points leader Mark Simon broke an axle and took the green flag to collect his points and pulled in.Defending champion Joe Francis slowed early ending his night.Henderson would lead Lampe until lap8 when Lampe took the lead and grabbed the win with Henderson following.
