Sanders Charges to Cedar Lake Summit Modified Nationals Finale

Summit Modified NationalsNew Richmond, Wis. – June 16, 2012 – Rodney Sanders of Happy, Texas, charged from a seventh-place starting spot to win the DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals main event Saturday Night at Cedar Lake Speedway.

Sanders not only took the win, worth a nice $2,000, but also claimed the DIRTcar Summit Modified Nationals point lead in the process. Jason Krohn of Slayton, Minn., would hold on to his second-place starting spot and hold back third finishing Jon Tesch of Watertown S.D. Pole sitter Zack VanderBeek of New Sharon, Iowa, finished fourth and Brent Larson of Lake Elmo, Minn., rounded out the top five.

The DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals will move to Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wis., Sunday. With the win, Sanders currently leads the Modified Nationals point standings by 22 markers over Ryan Gustin of Marshalltown, Iowa. Dave Cain of Corcoran, Minn., sits third, 30 points out.
