Jimmy Hurley, Michael Long, Vance Wilson, Tanner Klingele and Austen Bercerra all took feature event wins at Quincy Raceways on Sunday July 1 during Bank of Quincy Night at the Races.

Jimmy Hurley may have only led from the middle of turn three on the last lap to the checkered flag but it was the checkered flag falling for him that counted. Aaron Bruns jumped into the early lead of the twenty five lap MOWA Sprint Car main event at the drop of the green flag and looked like he was well on his way to the feature event win as he built a dominating lead over the first twenty laps. As Bruns began to slow in the closing laps, Hurley put on a charge to the front and was able to dip below Bruns in turn three of the final lap. There was contact between the two drivers with Hurley continuing onto the feature event win as Bruns recovered to grab the second spot. Joey Moughan took the third spot followed by Jim Moughan in fourth and Ben Wagoner in fifth. Jerrod Hull blasted to a lap of 11.786 to claim the qualifying top spot with Gary “Bubba” Altig, Robbie Standridge and Critter Malone taking the heat race wins. Joey Moughan grabbed the checkered flag in the Dash.

Michael Long made it a three win weekend in the Miller Lite UMP Modified feature event as he also won on Friday and Saturday. Long bested Jared Schlipman in second, Donovan Lodge in third, Shawn Deering in fourth and Ray Bollinger in fifth. Schlipman and Bollinger were the heat race winners.

Vance Wilson recovered from an early race spin to claim his first ever Summy Tire and Auto Center IMCA SportMod feature event. Wilson gained the top spot on lap 9 after a spin on lap 5 and proceeded to hold off Tony Dunker to take his first feature win in the IMCA SportMod Division.

Tanner Klingele held off a hard charging group of Quincy Hobby Stocks over the closing laps to grab his third feature win of the year. Klingele held back Brandon Symmonds in second, Jeremy Buss in third, Brian Hoener in fourth and Steve Carlin in fifth. Klingele and Symmonds were the heat race winners.

Austen Bercerra took the IMCA Sport Compact feature event win after a very close battle with second place finisher Chuck Fullenkamp. Pat Dunker scored the third spot followed by Dakota Anderson in fourth and Seith Woodruff in fifth.

Coming up next at Quincy Raceway will be a huge weekend of racing with the UMP SummerNationals bringing some of the best UMP Late Model drivers in the country to town for a battle for the $7500 winners check on Friday July 1. The Summit DirtCar UMP Modified SummerNationals will also be joining their fendered cohorts in a $650 to Win feature event featuring extra money from Powder Coat Plus of Quincy. Dunker Concrete has put up $100 to both the fast qualifier and the Hard Charger for the Modifieds.
