Corning, IA (June 29, 2012) – Jesse Stovall of Galena, MO won the 1st Annual Liberty 50 at the Adams County Speedway in Corning, IA.  Stovall won driving David Turner’s Victory Circle by Moyer Chassis with Scott Bailey power under the hood.  Normally behind the wheel of the Al Humphrey owned number 6, Stovall asked for another car after his had struggled with motor issues at last night’s race at I-80 that resulted in a thirteenth place finish.  Jesse thanked Turner and Bailey in his victory lane interview for their help.  The race was co-sanctioned by MARS, Corn Belt Clash (CBC) and MLRA.

6-time MARS champion, Terry Phillips of Springfield, MO spent the first half of the race following early race leader Jason O’Brien of Atlantic, IA.  O’Brien appeared to have the car to beat, before Phillips would pass him on lap twenty.  Phillips would hold onto that lead for fifteen laps, before Stovall would drive underneath him on lap thirty-five.
CBC champion, Chad Simpson of Mt. Vernon, IA finished third.  O’Brien and MLRA champion John Anderson of Omaha, NE rounded out the top five.
Next up for the MARS series will be at the Monett Speedway in Monett, MO on Tuesday July 3, 2012.
The MARS DIRTcar Series would like to thank their sponsors for the 2012 season. Hoosier Racing Tire, Libscomb Auto Group, Powertrain Industries, VP Race Fuels, Wrisco Aluminum, GRT Race Cars, Hatfield Racing Engines, Race Brothers Farm & Home Supply, Supermoon Graphics, Don Babb Motorsports, Comp Cams, Rod End Suppy and Vicci.
