Sat. July 7th Lee’s Diamond Dig at Highland Speedway Canceled Due to Extreme Heat Warnings

Due to the EXTREME Heat Warnings and safety concerns for our fans, drivers, and crews the events scheduled for Saturday, July 7, 2012 have been canceled.  Unfortunately a delayed start time is not an option, due to the curfew in place with the city of Highland, and the time it takes to run 6 classes.  We are rescheduling the Diamond Dig brought to you by Lee’s Loans, Jewelry & More to take place on Saturday, August 4, 2012.  The $300 Pick 3 jackpot, brought to you by Affordable Roofing Co., will roll over to our next regularly scheduled race Saturday, July 14, 2012. We thank you for understanding and encourage all of you to take precautions if heading out into the heat this weekend! You can still get your racing fix on Saturday night at Pevely, MO.

Racing at the Highland Speedway resumes on Saturday, July 14, 2012!  The PCRA series races into Highland Speedway on Saturday, July 14, 2012!!  Excel Bottling & Ski brings you Christmas in July featuring the Becker Jewelers Late Models, Steve Schmitt Modifieds, PCRA & Miller Lite Crates, SportMods, Bombers, & Hornets!!!  Kids bring your Christmas list, Santa will be there!!!  Kid’s night, every Junior Fan Club member 10 and under will get a Christmas gift, all kids must register with the Junior Fan Club by July 9th for gifts!  You do not need to register if you have already signed up at the track this year.  You can still register by emailing us at highlandspeedway@hometel.com or by calling 618-654-6656 (leave a message) by Monday, July 9th.   There will also be give aways from the Huddle House!  Pits Open at 3:00pm, Grandstands Open at 5:00pm, Pill Draw by 5:15pm, Drivers Meeting at 5:15pm, Hot Laps at 5:30pm, Racing Starts at 6:00pm. General Admission is $15.00, kids 10 and under are free with a paid adult admission. Don’t forget to try your chance at the Pick 3 for you chance to win up to a $300 jackpot, brought to you by Affordable Roofing Co.

Tuesday, July 10, 2012 Test & Tune Night at the Highland Speedway 6pm – 9pm. Pits open at 5:30pm and pit passes are $15, Grandstands Open at 6pm and are FREE!!

Saturday, July 21, 2012 Highland Speedway presents Leaps of Love night at the races on Saturday, July 21, 2012 featuring $1500 to Win Becker Jewelers Late Models, $700 to Win Steve Schmitt Modifieds, $450 to Win SportMods, $300 to Win Bombers, & $200 to Win Hornets!  The Miller Lite Crates can run with the Late Models and will receive Crate points.  Leaps of Love will have a 50/50 and raffle items throughout the evening!  It will be a fun night to benefit a great organization!  Don’t forget to take a chance to win a ‘race ready’ crate car of your own!  Leaps of Love will be selling raffle tickets for your chance to win the car or $10,000!  Drivers that purchase a Gold Cancer sticker from the Pit Shack and have it displayed on their car will receive a $50 bonus if they win their feature!!

 

Leaps of Love is a nonprofit, Highland based organization that embraces families affected by childhood brain tumors and late-effects of childhood cancer by providing hope, strength, and encouragement to meet challenges they face today as well as the long term effects of tomorrow.  There will be many of the families that Leap of Love helps at the track that afternoon playing games, meeting the drivers as they arrive.  “Most of these families have never attended a dirt track race before.  They are so excited to not only be there, but to have the opportunity to greet the drivers.”  For more information about Leaps of Love or the Crate Car Raffle, call 618-410-7212 or go to their website at www.leapsoflove.org or contact Traci Riechmann at traci@leapsoflove.org.
