(July 12, 2012) Wheatland, MO – The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the Lucas Oil MLRA will once again meet at the Diamond of Dirt Tracks on Saturday Night. The 6th Annual CMH Diamond Nationals will bring the nation’s top Dirt Late Model Drivers to Wheatland, Missouri for the $10,000 to Win Special Event which also awards the winner a coveted Diamond Ring. The Pitts Homes USRA A-Modifieds will be in action for $750 to Win for a full night of racing!

Jimmy Owens the “Newport Nightmare” from Newport, Tennessee has back to back wins of the Show-Me 100 and currently sits atop the Championship Points with LOLMDS. Owens has a nice cushion over, Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, Tennesse and Don O’Neal from Martinsville, Indiana who are tied for second in overall points. Bloomquist was the 2011 Diamond Nationals winner. Rookie of the Year stand out, Jonathan Davenport from Blairsville, Georgia leads Austin Hubbard of Seaford, Delaware in the Quarter Master ROY standings.

Omaha, Nebraska native, John Anderson leads the Lucas Oil MLRA points race. Galena, Missouri’s Jesse Stovall is second with Terry Phillips of Springfield, Missouri is in third. Anderson has a comfortable lead over Stovall, and appeared in Victory Lane at Lucas Oil Speedway on Opening Night of the 2012 Season. Phillips has been on a winning streak lately in his Bloomquist Racecar and will be one to keep an eye on. Kevin Sather and Mark Dotson are separated by only 3 points in the Rookie of the Year standings. Sather made it into the Show-Me 100 on his first attempt and recorded a 14th place finish. The rookies will be out to grab spots on the starting grid.

With the stars of the both series in the midst of championship racing and a great field of Pitts Homes USRA A-Modifieds expected, Saturday night’s event is a can’t miss! Many attractions and vendors will fill the Midway area at Lucas Oil Speedway with games, give-a-ways and more for fans of all ages. CMH will have car coasters for the first 1,000 fans in attendance.

Lucas Oil Speedway is located at Highways 83 and 54 in Wheatland, MO. A campground with shower and bathroom facilities is also available. With the entrance located just outside the pit gate this sprawling scenic camping facility will continue to enhance the racing experience at the Diamond of Dirt Tracks.
