Lucas Oil Speedway(WHEATLAND, MISSOURI) July 22, 2012 – The Ozarks Food Harvest Food Drive at Lucas Oil Speedway on Saturday Night collected approximately 10,000 pounds of non-pershiable food items! The KTTS Night at the Races plus the crowning of the Casey’s Mid-Season Points Champions drew a large crowd for a spectacular night of racing. Fans donated food items in exchange for admission into the event. Jon Binning claimed his first ever win at Lucas Oil Speedway and 2011 National USRA Points Champion, Johnny Bone Jr. took the checkers in the Pitts Homes USRA A-Modified class. Three wide racing in the Carson’s Corner Napa Factory Stock feature ended with Burl Woods in Victory Lane. Kris Jackson of Lebanon, Missouri repeated, appearing in Victory Lane and claiming the Casey’s General Stores Mid-Season Points Championship in the DJ’s RV B-Modifieds.

The DJ’s RV B-Modifieds rolled out first for the first feature event of the night. Kris Jackson jumped out for an early lead with Shawn Strong of Billings, Missouri just behind for the entire feature. Strong made a late race attempt to pass Jackson on the high side, but fell short. Jackson won the feature and secured the Casey’s General Store Mid-Season Points Championship. Jackson also received the Eibach Springs Award for his finish. Bob Kerbs from Nevada, Missouri was third with Colt Cheevers from Macks Creek, Missouri in fourth. Jacob Ebert of Oak Grove, Missouri finished the night in fifth.

Easily the most intense and exciting feature of the night was the Carson’s Corner Napa Factory Stocks. Burl Woods from Republic, Missouri was back in action at Lucas Oil Speedway and made his way to the Feature by winning the B-Main. Starting near the rear of the field in 17th, Woods made his way to 8th position in only four laps. By lap number eight Woods was in 4th position and looking to challenge the front of the field. Marc Carter from Warrensburg, Missouri started on the pole, Sundance Keepper started 7th then quickly made his way to the 2nd spot by lap eight. Woods, Carter and Keepper had fans on their feet as the laps ticked by. Three wide all the way around the 3/8 mile oval, each lap one of the three would pull away just enough to lead before being passed by again. In the end Burl Woods would take the checkers first with Marc Carter second. Carter would receive the Casey’s General Stores Mid-Season Points Champion honors for the class. Sundance Keepper slid up the track enough to let the 26M of Donnie Miller of Houston, Missouri around him. Johnny Coats from Joplin, Missouri completed the top five.

The Pitts Homes USRA A-Modifieds lined up for 20 laps with Jason Russell of Henley, Missouri on the pole and 2011 USRA National Points Champion, Johnny Bone Jr. from Pea Ridge, Arkansas outside. Bone passed Russell on lap number four and continued out front for the remainder of the feature for the win. John Allen from Chanute, Kansas started the feature on the inside of row three and grabbed a second place finish. Chase Jones from Eldorado Springs, Missouri finished third, followed by Russell. Matt Dotson from Clark, Missouri was fifth. Terry Schultz from Sedalia, Missouri finished 6th but was able to secure the Casey’s General Stores Mid-Season Points title. Schultz currently sits second in National USRA points standings.

Jon Binning from Warrensburg, Missouri, appeared in Lucas Oil Speedway Victory Lane for the first time in his career, snatching the $1,000 to Win presented by Lucas Motorcycle Oil in the ALPS Food Stores ULMA Late Models. The 25 Lap A-Main event capped off a great night of action. Jeremy Kelley from Walnut Grove, Missouri finished the feature 9th, securing his title of Casey’s General Store Mid-Season Points Champion in the ULMA class. JD Hubert from Cross Timbers, Missouri finished the feature second followed by Larry Jones and Jason Russell. Lee’s Summit, Missouri’s, Joe Walkenhorst rounded out the top five.
