Wheatland, MO (July 31st, 2012) – Saturday night fans will be in for a special treat at the Diamond of Dirt Tracks. TA/Petro Night at the Races will kick off with the first 1000 fans in attendance receiving a Camouflage Can Coozie. The “Mudd Slinger” will have his famous t-shirt gun loaded up with tons of FREE t-shirts, TA will also be giving out other cool items throughout the night. Saturday is Public Safety Appreciation Night with all Police, Fire and Rescue Personnel admitted FREE with ID.
On track, the Pitts Homes USRA A-Modifieds will be racing for $750 to Win courtesy of Rain’s Ice. ALPS Food Stores ULMA Late Models, Carson’s Corner Napa Factory Stocks and DJ’s RV B-Modifieds will also be in action. Now past the the mid-point in the season, drivers will be fired up aiming to claim the 2012 Lucas Oil Speedway Weekly Racing Series Points Championship.
Currently, Jeremy Kelley from Walnut Grove, Missouri is leading the way as the Mid-Season champ in the ALPS Food Stores ULMA Late Models, just ahead of Jason Russell from Henley, Missouri. Terry Schultz from Sedalia, Missouri holds a small lead over Russell as well, in the Pitts Homes USRA A-Modifieds. Russell pulls double-duty each week in the Late Model and A-Modified classes. Marc Carter from Warrensburg is leading Sundance Keepper from Everton, Missouri in the Carson’s Corner Napa Factory Stocks, by only 8 points. Kris Jackson from Lebanon, Missouri is out front in the DJ’s RV B-Modfieds.
On the spectator Midway enjoy multiple displays by local Police, Fire and Rescue Teams. Come early to check out these crews and their rescue vehicles, including an up close look at the CMH Helicopter!
The Springfield Area RC Club will have multiple RC Airplanes on display. The club is hosting a “play day” at Lake Lucas all day Saturday, the event is FREE and open to the public from 10 AM – 3PM. The specially constructed RC airplanes will put on floaters and use Lake Lucas as a landing strip.
