(MUSCATINE, IOWA) Birkhofer Racing trekked to the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky on August 10-11 for the 30th edition of the ‘North/South 100.’ On Friday night during the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series qualifying session, Brian Birkhofer posted the fifteenth fastest lap in Group A, which locked him into a third row starting spot for one of the six heat races on Saturday.
In front of a standing room only crowd, Brian ran fifth in his loaded heat race, but later moved up to second in his B-Main to earn a coveted transfer position into the $50,000 to win feature event. During the course of the 100-lap ‘North/South 100,’ which featured minimal passing, Brian pulled off the racing surface early and wound up twenty-fifth in the final rundown. The #15b team has one lone event on their radar this upcoming weekend, as they are slated to travel to the Winston Speedway in Rothbury, Michigan on Friday night, August 17. The Wolverine State venue will play host to a $10,000 to win World of Outlaws Late Model Series program tomorrow night.
