(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) Mars Racing is currently preparing their equipment for a trip to the Manitowoc Expo Speedway in Manitowoc, Wisconsin tomorrow, August 17 for the ‘George Scheffler Memorial Race.’ The Wisconsin Dirt Late Model Association (WDLMA) will preside over the third annual event, which boasts a $4,000 top prize. Additional information on the ‘George Scheffler Memorial Race’ can be obtained by logging onto www.wdlma.net.

Jimmy Mars and his #28 team tackled a pair of venues in the states of Wisconsin and Kentucky last week. On Tuesday night, August 7, Jimmy passed seven competitors during the $10,000 to win World of Outlaws Late Model Series showdown at the Shawano Speedway in Shawano, Wisconsin to score a steady eighth place performance in the 50-lapper. On Friday and Saturday, August 10-11, the Menomonie, Wisconsin ace competed in the 30th edition of the ‘North/South 100’ at the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. Jimmy unfortunately could not transfer into the $50,000 to win A-Main after finishing sixth in his loaded heat race and eighth in his B-Main.
