DRAKE LEADS BUD SERIES POINTS; ROUND 7 ON TAP TONIGHT

$2,000 to-win for Late Models and Double Hornet features at Peoria Speedway

(Peoria, IL,  August 18,2012) Peoria Speedway presents Round 7 of the Budweiser Super Late Model Series tonight, August 18. 66 drivers from 9 states have visited the Peoria high banks to compete in the Bud Series to date, with Bloomington driver Billy Drake currently holding a 39 point lead over Kevin Weaver in the chase for the $5,000 top prize. Steve Lance, Jr. sits 4 points behind Weaver in 3^rd, with Bobby Pierce and Jason Feger rounding out the top 5. UMP Summernationals champion Brian Shirley has captured 3 Bud Series events and is expected to be on hand tonight as well.

The Late Model Dash will be known as the Dependable Towing Dash for the final 3 Bud Series races, as Dependable Towing of Peoria has signed on to sponsor the 6 lap race which sets the first 3 rows for tonight’s 30 lap, $2,000 to-win feature. Limited Late Models, UMP Modifieds, UMP Street Stocks, Illinois Lightning Sprints and UMP Hornets, who will be having double features, are also racing tonight. Pit gates open at 3:00 p.m., with grandstands at 4:00 p.m. and hot laps at 5:00 p.m. Admission is $14 for adults, $12 for seniors, $4 for ages 8-15
